My boyfriend has always loved this name and up until now I’ve never really considered it. But lately it has been growing on me. I love the nn [name]Ellie[/name]. We pronounce it [name]El[/name]-ee-AWN-uh. I know some people say [name]El[/name]-ee-[name]ANNA[/name] so Im sure her name get mispronounced. However, I’m assuming we will have to correct people on the pronounciation of [name]Andreas[/name] too.
On that note, just out of curiousity how do you pronounce [name]Andreas[/name]?
Are [name]Eliana[/name] and [name]Eva[/name] to cutesy together? I know [name]Ellie[/name] and [name]Evie[/name] are cutesy but I kinda like it
I prefer the [name]Elaina[/name] spelling and pn better, but [name]Eliana[/name] is also a very lovely name too. And [name]Elaina[/name] would definitely have fewer mis-pn.
Its funny you should say that, [name]Elaina[/name] was our top girls name for years. I just dont like [name]Elaina[/name] with [name]Andreas[/name], the styles are too different imo.
I don’t think so at all! I think they sound fine together. But you are the one would have to hear it everyday - not me. lol Again, I personally think it could work.
[name]Andreas[/name] and [name]Elaina[/name] sound handsome together.
Thanks. We havent taken [name]Elaina[/name] off our list. There is a very good chance we will end up using it. After so long of it is hard to picture our child with any other name. Im afraid I’d slip up and call [name]Eliana[/name] [name]Elaina[/name] also.
Thank you for your replies so far. [name]Ive[/name] been thinking about it and I suppose [name]Ellie[/name] could be a nn for [name]Elaina[/name] as well…It bascially comes down to four names: [name]Elaina[/name] “[name]Ellie[/name]”, [name]Eliana[/name] “[name]Ellie[/name]”, [name]Eva[/name] “[name]Evie[/name]”, or [name]Emilia[/name] “[name]Millie[/name]”. All are very similar (I love E names) but I’m not sure which one I like best with [name]Andreas[/name]. I seem to change my mind from day to day. What do you think?
I think that [name]Eliana[/name] and [name]Emilia[/name] sound best with [name]Andreas[/name], though [name]Emilia[/name] might be better since both [name]Eliana[/name] and [name]Andreas[/name] contain “an”. You may also like [name]Eliora[/name].
My husband and I love the name [name]Eliana[/name]; one of our precious nieces has that name. She goes by [name]Ellie[/name] and gets frequent comments on her name. Although I’m biased, I’d say it’s a winner! It’s beautiful, unique without being weird, and will age well.
I have noticed the repetitive “an” sound in [name]Andreas[/name] and [name]Eliana[/name]. I’m not sure if that bothers me or not, seeing as they are at different places in each name.
Thanks everybody. I posted on another board asking which name went best with [name]Andreas[/name] and [name]Julian[/name]. The options were [name]Eva[/name], [name]Emilia[/name], [name]Eliana[/name], and [name]Elaina[/name]. So far [name]Emilia[/name] and [name]Eva[/name] are tied with 6 votes each. I’m not surprised. I figured they would be the top picks. I did think [name]Eliana[/name] would get more votes though (only 1). I’m starting to doubt its flow with [name]Andreas[/name] now…
