[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone! Today I am loving [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] to honor my late maternal grandma. I’d love to honor my mom too if I am lucky enough to have two daughters one day. She has a common classic name, and goes by her middle name. The problem is that she doesn’t like her name. There are a few options I’ve come up with that my mom actually likes. I’ll indicate those names. I’d love to hear your thoughts if you don’t mind!
Use [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], which rearranges the letters in her middle name
[name_f]Greta[/name_f] (my mom mentioned that this one is cute, and I think it is one of my favorite options!)
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] (she also said she likes this, but I know it’s becoming more popular, I do love it though!)
Use her initials (Madeline [name_u]June[/name_u] or [name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] would be cute)
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] (this one is so sweet)
[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] (this is my dad’s nickname for my mom; only he uses it, so I’m thinking it would be too
weird to use, but I do love it!)
Which are your favorites and what should I eliminate? Any feedback or suggestions you could offer would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you so much!

[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] maybe? for [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]? [name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f]?
Otherwise, I like [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f].

@cms1512 Thank you so much! [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f] is cool! It’s one I hadn’t thought of. I again that there something really sweet about [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] too!
Thank you again!
[name_f]Greta[/name_f] is very sweet and spiky! I like it with [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] - and that your mum likes it!
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is a cute, solid and sturdy idea
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] is fun and sassy - I don’t see it as any more popular than [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] where I am
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] - sweet, sparky and fun
[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] - I do like it, but yeah, I’d probably leave this as something for your dad to call her
A few suggestions:
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] / [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] came to mind - the matched first initial, a nod to [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and flowery like [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Jemma[/name_f] - similar letters to [name_f]Jane[/name_f], but with the M in there too
[name_f]Etta[/name_f] - same spunky feel as [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], similar to [name_f]Greta[/name_f]
[name_f]Marnie[/name_f] - like [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], sweet and fun and the M initial

[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is gorgeous. Also love [name_f]Greta[/name_f] (and [name_f]Gretel[/name_f], Gretchen), and [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], though I’d probably use [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] as an intuitive short form of a longer, more formal name - probably [name_f]Magali[/name_f] though I do like [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] too.

@Greyblue Thank you so much! [name_f]Greta[/name_f] , [name_f]Jemma[/name_f], and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] are so special. But of your suggestions, I think my favorite is [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]. I love the nicknames [name_f]Nola[/name_f] and [name_f]Lia[/name_f] especially. As much as I do love [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], it’s my dad’s name for my mom, and I don’t want to take that away from them by making it a daughter’s name. It just feels too special and endearing to use right now without at least having a conversation with my parents first. I’m comfortable with [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] with a different nickname though! I LOVE it, and hadn’t thought of using it as a first name.
Thank you again!

@Lula-Rose Thank you so much! [name_f]Greta[/name_f] and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] (the dark horse) are probably my favorites! I’ve never heard of [name_f]Magali[/name_f] before. It’s cute and cool at the same time, and I really like it!
Thank you again!
