What comes to mind when you hear this name combo?

Both are lovely - both are diminutives of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], as well! I don’t think this would be everyone’s first thought. I happen to be named after an [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f], though, so it is mine.

This combo is absolutely delightful. It’s bright and warm, like a white flower under the yellow sun. It’s definitely a spring-into-summer name. A chirping bird, lemonade, grass stain, rosy-cheek, and sun-bleached swim-suit are what I envision. These names are playful whilst also demure! :blossom:

I didn’t realize that [name_f]Lily[/name_f] was a diminutive of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]!

Yes! Not always, but has historically been.

I think of crowns or tiaras, white and pink flowers, sparkly [name_m]Doc[/name_m] [name_m]Martens[/name_m], ponds covered in waterlilies.

It’s a bright, sweet name

A character in a [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] [name_u]Alcott[/name_u] book. She would be the middle out of five sisters and is very dreamy and creative and likes writing poetry or painting by a pond or small river.

I love everyone’s associations! (With the exception of finding out that [name_f]Lily[/name_f] comes from the name [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] - I’m glad to know it but it does turn me off of the name combination a bit.) I wondered if everyone’s minds would go straight to [name_u]Eli[/name_u] [name_f]Lilly[/name_f], but it seems like not!

When I first saw the post before reading any comments, I thought of [name_u]Eli[/name_u] [name_f]Lily[/name_f], but I am definitely in the minority here

Such a lovely combination! I think classic, feminine, pretty, intelligent, and well-read. [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] seems literary to me, as the nn of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_u]Bennet[/name_u] in Pride and Prejudice, and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] adds a sweet lightness. I absolutely love it. :two_hearts:
