[name]Hi[/name] Berries! I really love the name [name]Eliza[/name], it’s one of my top girls names. I have noticed how often it is discussed in these posts and am wondering if it is really becoming that popular, or is it just on this site? [name]How[/name] many [name]Eliza[/name]'s do you know? I have only met one and it does not rank in the top 100 girl names in the state I live in. [name]Reading[/name] a different post about being on trend or being trendy got me thinking about [name]Eliza[/name] and I wanted to know yall’s opinions!
I don’t know anyone named [name]Eliza[/name]. I wouldn’t let some chatter deter you from using a name you love. It may well gain in popularity, but I doubt it’ll rise to the levels of [name]Emma[/name] and [name]Isabella[/name].
I also don’t know anyone named [name]Eliza[/name], but I love it
[name]One[/name] of my friends named his little girl [name]Eliza[/name], but aside from My Fair Lady, I’ve never heard it used. [name]Just[/name] remember that “popular” doesn’t necessarily mean popular in your area. Search by name popularity by state and see what comes up. There are national trends you’ll notice, but if you do the math, a relatively small (sometimes infintesimally) percentage of your local population will likely have the name.
ie, [name]Isabelle[/name] was the most popular name in my state. When I ran the numbers, it worked out that something like .09% of the entire population of female babies born that year that received that name.
I know a couple of Elizas but they are both in their 30s and 40s. I don’t know any young children with the name. I think [name]Eliza[/name] is popular on nameberry, but not really in the population in general.
I know one [name]Eliza[/name] in her twenties and one in her thirties, but that’s it. I don’t think it’s very popular, but you could always check the SSA name statistics online.
I know two girls named [name]Eliza[/name], and they’re both 15.
It’s too popular for me, sorry.
That may sound a bit hypocritical since [name]Isabelle[/name] is my top choice for a girl, lol, but [name]Eliza[/name] has always been a favorite of mine and I always thought it was relatively special since it seemed like most didn’t love it. But now it ranks at 240 and I hear it discussed all over the place and it just doesn’t feel as special to me as it did growing up! So I’ve gone off of it, but I do think it’s a great name and it’s only rising steadily… I think it’ll be a while until it reaches the top 100, if that happens. I only know one [name]Eliza[/name], and she lives halfway across the country from me.
Good luck!
I don’t know any Elizas and I haven’t seen that many in the birth announcements either.
Thanks, I appreciate each of your replies! I was hoping to see that [name]Eliza[/name] is popular and often discussed on this site and not actually as popular as it seems. I did check the SSA stats online and it pretty much confirms what everyone said here : ) I’m glad that if there is an [name]Eliza[/name] you know, she is not one of many.
[name]Eliza[/name]'s been a favorite of mine for several years now, though I’ve never met an actual person with that name, let alone a baby.
What’s popular here on Nameberry isn’t necessarily going to be as popular in the real world, because us name fanatics make up only a small percentage of parents and parents-to-be.
I don’t know any Elizas, but its such a gorgeous sophisticated name!
