[name]Hi[/name]!
I love [name]Eliza[/name]! [name]Eliza[/name] Head does sound close to “it lies ahead” (or at least “lies ahead”) to me. Hmmm…I don’t think it’s the worst, but like you said, it’s not the best.
Is there any chance that your last name is pronounced like “heed,” to rhyme with the words “read”/“reed”?
Take care!
As [name]Jill[/name] mentioned, my first thought was that you’re in the clear if your last name is pronounced like heed. But, since you came on here to post this concern, I’m guessing it’s just plain old head. I hate to add more problems, but I actually think you’re going to hit a snag with [name]Eleanor[/name] Head as well - sounds a lot like “all in your head.”
Thanks for the replies! No, unfortunately it’s pronounced just like it looks: “head.” ~sigh~
I wish I didn’t hear “it lies ahead” with [name]Eliza[/name] Head. I was hoping it was just me, but I saw that JLM thought so, too.
Have you thought about [name]Elizabeth[/name]? It’s not totally perfect with Head, either, but I don’t hear any phrases with [name]Elizabeth[/name] Head!
Take care…
Unfortunately, it does sound a little strange. I think [name]Elizabeth[/name] Head is much better and you can always call her [name]Eliza[/name]!
Grrr, this is getting so frustrating! The more it seems like I can’t use [name]Eliza[/name], the more I really want to! LOL!
I know using [name]Elizabeth[/name], nn [name]Eliza[/name], seems like the best compromise, but the name loses all its charm for me when you add “beth” on the end. I can’t explain why, exactly, the names just have completely different personalities.
I completely understand. And you know, while [name]Elizabeth[/name] may add some, dare I say, normalcy to Head, [name]Eliza[/name] isn’t the worst by any means. And for me, I only hear “it lies ahead” if I stop to think about it, which most people probably won’t do. If the flow bothers you, seek other options. But if you love it, you love it.
