[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is such a classic, but also well-known and popular name, so I like it best with a slightly less familiar name in the middle spot. I like the sound of an -a or -ia ending with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Ayelet[/name_f] - [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is so well-known I like to pair it with a dramatic, uncommon name. [name_f]Ayelet[/name_f], which literally means gazelle and poetically refers to the morning star, fits the bill to a tee.
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] - [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] (pr. eye-la) means “the halo of light around the moon” or more simply “moonlight” in Turkish and I love it. It also has a very simple sound and doesn’t make the whole combo too long.
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f] - I like the rhythm with the accent on the second syllable, it’s the same thing that made [name_f]Marie[/name_f] such a mainstay for so long.
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] - (pr. ee-fa) is an Irish name that is unexpected and magical. It’s probably too odd to survive as a first name anywhere but [name_f]Ireland[/name_f], but I love it as a middle that pops.
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Aisling[/name_f] - (pr. ash-ling or ash-lin’) is another Irish name, this one means ‘dream’ and, yes, I find it dreamy.
Wow some amazing responses! Thank you berries. @stripedsocks- thank you for the additional info you gave about why you like the names you suggested, very insightful and made me love [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] more.
I’m going to list my favourites with a (?) after the ones I’m not sure if DH would like (he is a man of simple, yet stylish! taste).
Any future children would have two middles, first middle beginning with A. Some possible second middles include: [name_f]Mary[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Miriam[/name_f], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u].
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Aviana[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] (?)
I love this! NN for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] would probably be [name_f]Ella[/name_f] after my grandmother who loved watching birds in her little garden (hence why [name_f]Aviana[/name_f] works so well). She had actually been watching them just before she passed away. [name_f]Mary[/name_f] for my other beloved Grandma with whom I am very close.
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]
I love the sound and meaning of [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] and the fact that it reflects DH’s Irish heritage. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is a family name, my grandfathers mother and grandmother were called [name_f]Lily[/name_f].
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Angelina[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]
[name_f]Angelina[/name_f] is probably the only ‘celebrity name’ I would use. [name_f]Angela[/name_f] is a family name on DH’s side and I think the '[name_f]Lina[/name_f] ’ ending brings it up to date. I think this combo is really pretty.
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (?)
I love the meaning of [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and like the flow of this combo.
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]
Such a sweet sounding name! [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] would sound a bit too much like a prayer [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]
[name_f]Miriam[/name_f] is my first middle name. Gorgeous meaning. [name_u]Love[/name_u] this.
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]
I think DH would really like the meaning of this one.
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
Very pretty sounding. [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] don’t quite work as second middles so I’ve used another family name: [name_u]Ruby[/name_u].
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Aria[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (??)
Gorgeous! But a friend has just had a daughter named [name_f]Aria[/name_f].
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Araminta[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] (??)
I love this but DH has already vetoed [name_f]Araminta[/name_f]!
Names I really like but DH would definitely veto for being too out there : [name_f]Araceli[/name_f], [name_f]Ayelet[/name_f], [name_u]Artemis[/name_u].
Now I need to whittle these down to a top 5 and work out where [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] fit in all this!!
