I’m torn between [name]Elizabeth[/name] or [name]Elisabeth[/name]. My favorite nickname is [name]Elsa[/name]/[name]Elsie[/name], so I lean toward the [name]Elisabeth[/name] spelling, but she’d have to be constantly correcting people, wouldn’t she? Should I just go with [name]Elsa[/name] if that’s what I want to call her? I do love [name]Elisabeth[/name]/[name]Elizabeth[/name] - I just worry about all the myriad nickname options. Any thoughts?
I think definetely use [name]Elizabeth[/name]. The nicknames you like can still be used.
[name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and I get called [name_f]Libby[/name_f], [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] from different people. I love [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]! There is no need to spell it with an s to get to the nicknames you like.
I would just go with [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], since it’s an established name on its own. But, if I has to choose I’d go with the [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] spelling.
I prefer [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. All the nicknames could be used with either spelling.
I much prefer [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]. Many actresses/well known people have their name spelled this way and there has never been any question in my mind about how to say the name. It’s a well known variation and I think it looks a bit softer (yet still strong) than with a Z. [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] are more natural nicknames from [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] which I love too
I would say [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. You can definitely still call her [name_f]Elsa[/name_f]/[name_f]Elsie[/name_f].
