I prefer [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]; it feels a little more unique and it still counts as an honor name
I much prefer [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. The nickname options are a huge plus, and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] could be a sort of pet name too. Really, though, I’ve never been able to get behind [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] - possibly because all the fictional characters I’ve met with that name have been annoying. Something about the [name_f]LYZ[/name_f] sound also doesn’t sit right for me. So I much prefer [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]! [name_f]Imo[/name_f] it’s the queen of girl names - it really has everything.
I vastly prefer [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. It’s so much more versatile and regal in sound. I’m not keen on [name_f]Eliza[/name_f].
I much prefer [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] because [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is so over-used and I personally don’t like the name [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (but for some weird reason, I love [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Elisabet[/name_f], lol)
I adore both. They honor my late sister. I personally prefer [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] for a first name, either as a middle name. In general I prefer more approachable, friendly seeming first names. Less formal. Like I prefer a comfortable pair of jeans over a gown.
I prefer [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (no surprise) because of the nickname possibilities and because it’s such a classic. If our daughter doesn’t want to be called [name_f]Libby[/name_f] when she’s older, she’ll have many other options - including [name_f]Eliza[/name_f].
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is a lovely name, but it’s a mouthful to say - only 5 letters but it’s 3 syllables! It lends itself to you ending up calling her [name_f]Liza[/name_f] (or [name_f]Liz[/name_f] or [name_f]Elle[/name_f]) for short, even if just “unofficially”, because E-liz-a is a lot to get out every time you call your child. Those are not my favorite [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nicknames, so [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] didn’t end up under serious consideration for us.
I haven’t yet met another [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] in any of my kids’ toddler classes or play spaces, or out on the playground. And when I do, she’ll probably go by a nickname other than [name_f]Libby[/name_f]. Having an [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is nothing like if we’d named our daughter [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] or [name_f]Emma[/name_f]…in fact, we’ve met more little Charlies, and our son’s name is much further down the popularity list!
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is gorgeous, it’s one of my favourite names If you like both I would make [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] her full name, with the nickname [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], and call her both. Pretty much every [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] I’ve known has gone by a nickname anyways.
I like both. They both have quite a different feel for me. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is strong and classy. [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is spunky and sweet. I voted for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] because it gives you the best of both: the full name [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nn could be [name_f]Eliza[/name_f].
I prefer the classic [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] because of the nickname possibilities. With [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] on her birth certificate you can choose or let her choose a name she prefers when she gets older…[name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_f]Elisa[/name_f], [name_f]Ellyssa[/name_f], [name_f]Beth[/name_f], [name_f]Lisabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Bettey[/name_f], [name_f]Elisheba[/name_f], [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Bett[/name_f], [name_f]Lilabet[/name_f], [name_f]Lyzbette[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Bess[/name_f], [name_f]Lyzbeth[/name_f], [name_f]Elyssa[/name_f], [name_f]Leeza[/name_f], [name_f]Betsie[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabee[/name_f], [name_f]Elysabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Bette[/name_f], [name_f]Elyza[/name_f], [name_f]Libbi[/name_f], [name_f]Libbie[/name_f], [name_f]Bet[/name_f], [name_f]Alizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Elyzza[/name_f], [name_f]Lyzbet[/name_f], [name_f]Elyse[/name_f], [name_f]Bettie[/name_f], [name_f]Elsy[/name_f], [name_f]Betsi[/name_f], [name_f]Ellsi[/name_f], [name_f]Leesa[/name_f], [name_f]Elisheva[/name_f], [name_f]Lyzanne[/name_f], [name_f]Elisabith[/name_f], [name_f]Lisabet[/name_f], [name_f]Lyza[/name_f], [name_f]Lizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Ellspet[/name_f], [name_f]Ellyza[/name_f], [name_f]Libby[/name_f], [name_f]Betsey[/name_f], [name_f]Lizbet[/name_f], [name_f]Bessy[/name_f], [name_f]Bessie[/name_f], [name_f]Lyzette[/name_f], [name_f]Lizanne[/name_f], [name_f]Betty[/name_f], [name_f]Liz[/name_f], [name_f]Betsy[/name_f], [name_f]Buffy[/name_f], [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f], [name_f]Lisbeth[/name_f], [name_f]Ellyse[/name_f], [name_f]Lysa[/name_f], [name_f]Bessi[/name_f], [name_f]Lyssie[/name_f], [name_f]Lisanne[/name_f], [name_f]Ellisa[/name_f], [name_f]Elsee[/name_f], [name_f]Lizzi[/name_f], [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f], [name_f]Lizzy[/name_f], [name_f]Lizbeth[/name_f], [name_f]Lilibeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], the multitudes of variations including [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] makes it so versatile no matter age or personality
Althought I find [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] pretty nice, I personally prefer [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].
Both are beautiful, but [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is one of my all time favs!
