I love both names, but it sounds like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is a better fit for your little one, as it’s a family name, and since you already have the adorable [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] picked out as your preferred nn.
I really love both!
I think [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is to-the-point, feminine but not frilly, it doesn’t have many natural nickname options, the only one I can think of is [name_f]Janie[/name_f] though for people who want (almost) nickname-proof names for their children, that isn’t such a bad thing!
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is also very much to-the-point yet it is a little frillier, you have heaps of nicknames and even if there should be another [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] in her class, it’s unlikely that either would have to go by their first and last name (initial) but instead they’d be [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] & [name_f]Liz[/name_f], [name_f]Betty[/name_f] & [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] & [name_f]Libby[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] & [name_f]Beth[/name_f],…
It being a family name adds meaning, which is always lovely.
Personally, I’d choose [name_f]Jane[/name_f] but would pick [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] for you
I feel like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is more common as a middle name rather than a first name, As it’s also my middle name and quite a few of my friends’ middle name. With that said, it’s also a family name for us and I happen to love it! …For a first or middle name. I’m not a fan of nn in general and I really don’t like the typical nn that go with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] like [name_f]Beth[/name_f], [name_f]Liz[/name_f], [name_f]Lizzy[/name_f] and [name_f]Lizbeth[/name_f] to name a few. But I do think the options of [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and [name_m]Eli[/name_m] are very cute if you feel a nn is needed/wanted. The only thing to consider with the “E” theme would be whether or not you’d continue the theme with future children… are there other “E” names you like for both boys and girls? Would your other kid/kids feel left out if their name didn’t begin with “E” ? I think an entire family of “E’s” would be awesome! But that would be totally up to you… I love the name [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and much prefer it to [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. hope this helps!
Elizabeth Jane for the win. Elsie is quite a popular name now. Have you considered Eliza, Ellie, Betty or Beth? Also I don’t think Elizabeth is as common now, which is good. Her classmates with be Olivia, Ava, Sophie, Lucy, Violet, Ruby, Mia, Ivy, Isla, Sienna. All much more trendy these days!

I agree with both of these!
I also responded to your other thread. My only hesitation for you would be if you plan to have more children…would you feel compelled to give them all E names? [name_m]How[/name_m] would you feel about that?
