I am starting to really love [name]Ella[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] despite the popularity…my only issue is my mother had a dog named [name]Stella[/name] that became [name]Ella[/name] to everyone so I am wondering if that is weird? [name]Ella[/name] the dog has been dead for about 2.5 years.
I don’t think it is weird. If the animal has passed on it is not weird to me.
I love the name [name]Gareth[/name], which if we used it would probably be shortened to [name]Gary[/name]. My mother has a cat named [name]Gary[/name], so that name is out for now. If I used that name while her cat was still alive, that would be strange. 
[name]Ella[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] is very pretty, and if you like it and don’t care about the popularity you should use it.

Since it was your mother’s dog and not your dog, I don’t think it should be a problem.
I love [name]Ella[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]! [name]Ella[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] is a combo on my long list. If I wasn’t so set on [name]Isabelle[/name], [name]Ella[/name] would probably be much higher on the list. Since [name]Jack[/name] and [name]Claire[/name] are relatively popular, too, I think [name]Ella[/name] fits right in. Stylistically, I think [name]Jack[/name], [name]Claire[/name], and [name]Ella[/name] are a great match. I wouldn’t worry too much about the dog, either, especially since it wasn’t your dog.

Its funny I never would have considered it because of the dog thing but my DS keeps suggesting [name]Ellie[/name] for a girl. I do worry about her being [name]Ella[/name] F but I only know one other little [name]Ella[/name] under 5 and it if there is another [name]Ella[/name] in her class she could go by [name]Ella[/name] [name]Kate[/name] which I think is cute. My son has been [name]Jack[/name] [name]Louis[/name] in camp this summer since there is another [name]Jack[/name] in his group and I was [name]Jenn[/name] [name]Lauren[/name] all through HS.
I struggled so much with my daughter’s name! Through four pregnancies with boys, I always had the name [name]Isabella[/name] [name]Kate[/name] [name]Marie[/name] for a girl nn [name]Bella[/name] [name]Kate[/name]. Then, when I finally got pregnant with a little girl, [name]Isabella[/name] was at the top of the US Social Security list, but I just couldn’t give up my dream of [name]Bella[/name] [name]Kate[/name], so I compromised with [name]Arabella[/name]! Now, I prefer [name]Arabella[/name] to [name]Isabella[/name]! Anyway, I think [name]Ella[/name] Kathernine is timeless and beautiful! [name]Don[/name]'t worry about the dog association. My mother in law adopted a dog named [name]Bella[/name], and she decided not to change her name, even though she knew if we ever had a daughter she would be a [name]Bella[/name] variant! I used my name anyway!
People give dogs people names all the time! No biggie in my opinion! [name]Hope[/name] your dh gets on board with you!
