[name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], etc.: Which do you prefer as a nickname for my '70s/'80s name [name_f]Rachelle[/name_f]?
I’ve relocated and I’m thinking of going by a fresh name.

[name_m]Both[/name_m] are pretty. [name_f]Elle[/name_f] is more modern and [name_f]Ella[/name_f] more vintage ( and popular rigt now for babies.)
I like [name_f]Elle[/name_f] better. Is it ra-shell or ra-kell?
It’s [name_m]Ra[/name_m]-shell (the first part is something between a “rah” and “ruh” sound), although I have had people use the [name_m]Ra[/name_m]-kell pronunciation on more than one occasion.
I think [name_f]Elle[/name_f] works better
Can’t say I’m a fan of [name_f]Elle[/name_f]/a names (so overused), but I’d go with [name_f]Elle[/name_f] over [name_f]Ella[/name_f] since you’re name isn’t [name_f]Rachella[/name_f]. It makes more sense.
Either would be lovely. Personally I like [name_f]Elle[/name_f], but [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is gorgeous too. [name_u]Rae[/name_u] is also a nn for [name_f]Rochelle[/name_f] which I think is cool too.
I think [name_f]Elle[/name_f] is a little more intuitive than [name_f]Ella[/name_f]… so for that reason, I say [name_f]Elle[/name_f]. [name_m]Both[/name_m] are lovely, though.
