What do you think of Ellesmere?

It’s the name of a street here in my city, and I always thought it was a beautiful name for a street. So I looked it up, and it’s a legitimate name as well.

It means “[name]Ellis[/name]’ pond”, apparently. There’s also an Island in the Arctic named Ellesmere Island.

I think it might be a sweet way to honor a [name]Meredith[/name], or a [name]Elle[/name]. I think it’s pretty, and close to [name]Esmeralda[/name] with out the “gemstone” feel.
I like it quite a bit personally.

When I first read it in my head i wasn’t sure, but I think its quite pretty actually, and could have so many nicknames!!! :slight_smile:

Reminds me of a city in [name]Florida[/name] called Fellsmere. It’s known for the Fellsmere Frog Leg Festival, so take that however you like.

But it also reminds me of another town here, Windermere which is pretty nice

I think it’s a pretty name, but I have a hard time picturing it on a baby! I think the name would always end up being shortened by friends/family. As long as you don’t mind that, pick the nickname you like best for it and call her that name from the start so it catches on quickly! :slight_smile:
