We also liked the same first and middle names for our daughter, but personally, I wanted her to have the option between a cute name and a name suitable for a grown-up.
So, we went with [name]Elyssa[/name] [name]Marie[/name], with the nickname [name]Ellie[/name], and it suits our now 4 year old perfectly!
Good luck with your decision!
It’s a cute name however i am a fan of long names and imo [name]Ellie[/name] is more of a nn but its presonal preference.
I do think its a lovely name but might be baby-ish by the time she’s 30 ?!
Best of luck[/quote]
I was sort of thinking the same thing. [name]Ellie[/name] would make a gorgeous nn but in my opinion it falls short of being a recommendable full name.
[name]Marie[/name] is lovely too but is one of the most common mns out there for girls so it runs the risk of sounding generic and seeming like a filler.
So, suggestions for names with the nn [name]Ellie[/name]:
Interesting post! As it happens my name is …[name]Eleanor[/name] ([name]Ellie[/name]) [name]Marie[/name]. The names obviously go well together however I always wished I had had a ‘cooler’ middle name. I have been known as [name]Ellie[/name] my whole life and distinctly hated [name]Eleanor[/name] up until about 3 years ago. Now I don’t mind people calling me [name]Eleanor[/name] but still prefer [name]Ellie[/name]. If you want to go with just [name]Ellie[/name] I think that is totally fine.
my oldest daughter’s name is [name]Ellie[/name], just [name]Ellie[/name]. She’s [name]Ellie[/name] [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Jane[/name]. [name]Ellie[/name] is such a cute name, not too too popular, but will grow up on her well and is classic. [name]Ellie[/name] [name]Kate[/name] is another we considered.
I am also wondering about the name [name]Gabrielle[/name] ([name]Ellie[/name]) [name]Howard[/name], but can’t think of any good middle names with that. Also, wondering what comes to mind when hearing [name]Gabrielle[/name]?
Also, I do like [name]Ellie[/name] [name]Sofia[/name] [name]Howard[/name]. Is it me, or does the last name really kind of make it hard to pick one
I do like many of those middle names! I especially like [name]Gabrielle[/name] [name]Tess[/name] [name]Howard[/name] or [name]Gabrielle[/name] [name]Kate[/name] [name]Howard[/name] or [name]Gabrielle[/name] [name]Jane[/name] [name]Howard[/name].
What do you guys think about [name]Ellie[/name] [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Howard[/name] or [name]Ellie[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] [name]Howard[/name]?
If I had a little [name]Gabrielle[/name], her middle name would be [name]Denise[/name]. I just adore that combination. Also, I like it that you would use “[name]Ellie[/name]” as a nn instead of [name]Gabby[/name]. [name]Just[/name] lovin’ that! Good luck to you. [name]Happy[/name] naming!

Funny that you say that! My first name is [name]Denise[/name]. That might be a little too much?
[name]Gabrielle[/name] [name]Howard[/name] is so pretty! I think it would be wonderfully refreshing to hear a [name]Gabrielle[/name] that goes by [name]Ellie[/name] instead of [name]Gabby[/name]. Some ideas for middles:
There’s many middle names that work with [name]Gabrielle[/name]. I think a non-2 syllable middle name would sound best and I love [name]Gabrielle[/name] [name]Sofia[/name]!
