Ellie?

I’m loving the name [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] recently; no full name, just [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. I mentioned it to SO and he likes it too, so yay. We’ve added [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] to our list as of now, and I just wanted some opinions on the name itself, and our combo. [name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to be honest, I’m looking for what you truly think of it. Also, how do you think it will fit in in a classroom? I live in [name_f]England[/name_f] if that changes things.

Thanks in advance

I’m personally not a fan of nicknames as given names, I would much prefer to see [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Elena[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f] etc

But [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f] would have no trouble fitting in to a UK classroom - in 2012 [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] was the 35th most popular name, [name_f]Ella[/name_f] was very popular at #18, and even [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f] ranked at #264 (#244 for [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-[name_f]May[/name_f] spelling). I’m not sure on the 2013 stats but I imagine they’re similar.

I love [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], but personally prefer it as a nn. Yet even without a full name I think she will fit in just fine in a classroom, especially in [name_f]England[/name_f] since you guys seem to like nicknames as full names. [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is very sweet and flows well, but maybe a bit boring and expected. I would personally prefer something like [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-[name_f]Joy[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] or [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-[name_f]Joy[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. [name_f]Joy[/name_f] flows just as well with [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] as [name_f]Mae[/name_f] does, but is a little fresher imo.

Thanks for your opinions  SO suggested [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], but I prefer the spelling [name_f]Mae[/name_f], and I’d rather have the hyphen there. I’m currently loving [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], but he doesn’t like it as much. Any thoughts on that?

I like [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] much more than [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f] since I’m not a fan of hyphenated names. But also because [name_f]Mae[/name_f] has been overdone on my opinion, [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] is fresher and just as beautiful.
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is adorable on it’s own, even without a longer name.
Good [name_m]Luck[/name_m]!

What about [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f] Primose? [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f] is just as sweet as can be! I think [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is popular enough that it can be a stand alone name. I don’t think “nickname names” need a full name. [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] is so fresh and pretty. [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] sounds pretty, too, but I adore [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f].

I’m also not a fan of nicknames of given names, but I love [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]! [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is lovely. I don’t like [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] with [name_f]Ellie[/name_f].

Thank you for all the opinions  I love [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f]! I might suggest that one to my SO, and see if he likes it. Thanks again
