I’m having our fifth and final child any day now - and have never been so lost on a name. My husband LOVES [name]Crosby[/name] ([name]Crosby[/name], Stills and [name]Nash[/name] - also my Grandpa’s middle name) for him, but I can’t seem to wrap my head around it. We are really into music, but don’t want anything over the top obvious like [name]Hendrix[/name]. Sibling names are [name]Madelyn[/name] [name]Alyse[/name], [name]Jude[/name] [name]Tyler[/name], [name]Ella[/name] [name]Isabel[/name], [name]Claire[/name] [name]Elisabeth[/name]. I would love an [name]Elliot[/name] after [name]Elliot[/name] [name]Smith[/name], but feel like [name]Ella[/name] and [name]Elliot[/name] might be to close…? Thoughts? Suggestions?
Middle name will probably be [name]Seth[/name] after [name]Seth[/name] Avett (a favorite musician)
What about [name]Seth[/name] [name]Crosby[/name] or [name]Seth[/name] [name]Elliot[/name]. I think [name]Seth[/name] in the first name spot fits better with your other childrens names. I don’t like [name]Crosby[/name] in the first name at all. I find [name]Seth[/name] to be a much more handsome choice.
I’m not a huge fan of [name]Crosby[/name] and really love [name]Elliot[/name], but for you I would not use [name]Elliot[/name] because it is too close to [name]Ella[/name]
[name]Elliot[/name] is too close to [name]Ella[/name]. I’d avoid [name]Crosby[/name], too. Most people will associate it to be a whiny, crybaby, big ego person’s name (I’m looking at you, [name]Sidney[/name] [name]Crosby[/name]). Check [name]Urban[/name] dictionary to see what hockey fans think of him.
[name]Graham[/name] Avett or [name]Graham[/name] [name]Seth[/name] would be awesome in your set. [name]Graham[/name] being after [name]Graham[/name] [name]Nash[/name].
I agree with others. I really like the idea of [name]Seth[/name] in the first name spot. [name]Crosby[/name] is a bit too much and obvious to me. I feel like it doesn’t really fit in with your other children’s names that are more subtle and maintains more class. [name]Elliot[/name] would work great if it weren’t for [name]Ella[/name], unfortunately. [name]Seth[/name] [name]Crosby[/name] is cool as is [name]Seth[/name] [name]Elliot[/name]. I also like someone else’s suggestion of using [name]Graham[/name].
Other ideas (shot in the dark b/c not sure of your musical taste because you mentioned [name]Elliot[/name] [name]Smith[/name] and [name]Crosby[/name] Stills and [name]Nash[/name] and I"m assuming [name]Jude[/name] from the Beatles and [name]Tyler[/name] as in [name]Steven[/name] [name]Tyler[/name]):
[name]Just[/name] some ideas. If none of these tickle your fancy, I’m sure you can find some others based on some of your favorite musicians that are a little less subtle than [name]Crosby[/name] that fit your other kids’ names.
I don’t want to choose between the two because I have a three year old named [name]Elliot[/name] and a three month old named [name]Crosby[/name]. [name]Both[/name] are such fantastic names. But I do think [name]Elliot[/name] is too close to [name]Ella[/name] so [name]Crosby[/name] is my choice. What about [name]Crosby[/name] [name]Elliot[/name]? I’ve gotten so many compliments on the name [name]Crosby[/name]. It’s unusual without being weird. And I love the fact that you have a family connection to it. I’ve had very few people mention the hockey connection. Some people ask if we are [name]Crosby[/name], Stills and [name]Nash[/name] fans but not so much that it has become annoying. It’s a solid name that’s on the rise.
I absolutely love [name]Crosby[/name]! But I have to agree with others that I think [name]Seth[/name] is a slightly better fit with your sibset as a first name. [name]Seth[/name] [name]Crosby[/name] is nice, but I also like [name]Crosby[/name] [name]Seth[/name]. As far as the crybaby big ego hockey player thing, I have absolutely zero idea who that is and would never have thought of it in a million years, so I don’t think it’s a “most people” thing. Maybe a “some people” thing. Anyway, good luck!
I really like [name]Seth[/name] [name]Crosby[/name]. That way it’s still honoring grandpa in the middle spot but you aren’t using a name you don’t 100% love for your son. I do agree that [name]Elliot[/name] is too closse to [name]Ella[/name], but it would work fine in the middle as well. [name]Crosby[/name] actually doesn’t make me think of hockey or music directly. I know it more recently as [name]Dax[/name] [name]Shepard[/name]'s character on the great show ‘Parenthood’ and that’s also probably why I like it so much. It’s gaining a bit of popularity but still nowhere near as popular as [name]Elliot[/name] so that would still be my choice out of the two. But then again [name]Elliot[/name] is one of my favorite names so you can’t really go wrong with whatever you choose. In case that was unclear my vote goes to [name]Seth[/name] [name]Crosby[/name] or secondly to [name]Crosby[/name] [name]Elliot[/name].
Good luck to you! =]
