[name]Elliot[/name] or [name]Elliott[/name] (one t or two?)
Which is the original? Which do you like better for a boy?

I might be biased (my son is [name]Elliot[/name]) but I like it with one t. [name]Elliott[/name] looks too heavy, sort of overdone. [name]Elliot[/name] might look unfinished, but it just takes getting used to. I’m not sure what the original is. [name]Eliot[/name] is found also (think [name]George[/name] [name]Eliot[/name]).
Great question! I’ve been using two t’s since I like [name]Elliott[/name] [name]Smith[/name] but according to the nameberry listings here, [name]Elliot[/name] is the original and/or more common one. I tend to prefer the most common spelling but just wasn’t sure which it was before.
I like the symmetry of [name]Elliott[/name]. But that’s also how I’ve seen it most commonly spelled. [name]Eliot[/name] looks a little unfinished - the opposite of too heavy!
I think this is one where you can go solely on your own preference as I’m guessing the posts will split 50-50 on this one.
[name]How[/name] about [name]Clark[/name] and [name]Clarke[/name]?
[name]Clark[/name] without a doubt. [name]Clarke[/name] is like Shoppe instead of Shop.
