Is Alioth a boy or a girl? That might make a difference. I think, while the names sound similar, they look different and are completely different names (I’ve never heard of Alioth while [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] is pretty common). People are more likely to be looking at the names than saying them out loud. I say don’t worry about it, especially if the names are perfect in every other way.

Alioth is a girl. Her dad is an astronomer: her name is the common name of a star. She has a brother, [name_u]Rigel[/name_u], which is also a star. Her nickname is [name_u]Ali[/name_u]. I really like both names and I don’t want to change either, so that’s what I’m leaning towards. I have another post called Smart & sweet boy names and it has the names of all the main characters along with a description of each.
