I’m a huge fan of [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u] / [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] has always been a favorite of mine.
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]! [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] feels too trendy and overused. [name_u]Everett[/name_u] is much fresher. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_u]Emmett[/name_u]?
I prefer [name_u]Everett[/name_u] for a boy, just because I prefer names that are clearly gender-specific, and most little [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]/Elliotts I have met recently are girls. I think the “ette” sounding ending, along with the nicknames [name_f]Elle[/name_f] or [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] have precipitated the shift. Then again, [name_u]Everett[/name_u] might be moving that direction with the option of the [name_f]Evie[/name_f] nickname, although I have yet to meet a female [name_u]Everett[/name_u] ([name_u]Everly[/name_u] seems more common).
If the shift towards being a unisex name doesn’t bother you, then I like both names equally.
it’s really the spelling of [name_m]elliott[/name_m] that i dislike, for whatever reason — if i were to choose that name, i prefer the spelling [name_m]eliot[/name_m]. but i do so love [name_m]everett[/name_m]; it’s such a rich, handsome name that calls to mind for me pine trees and dark chocolate. there’s quite a warmth to it that isn’t there with [name_m]elliott[/name_m] for me.
Gosh this is so hard! They are both in my short list. I think I prefer [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] slightly more…or at least today I do. haha.
