Elodie or Maisie!?!?! Help

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I are due with our 3rd child a baby girl early [name_u]December[/name_u]

I think we have it narrowed down to 2 names.

[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]

OR

[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] (calling her [name_f]Ellie[/name_f])

We are using [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] as a middle name as it is a combination of both our Mother’s middle names

I am torn. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband prefers [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]. Everyone I ask really seems opposed to the name [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] though, and thinks [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] is the better option.

We have a son [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] and a daughter [name_f]Myka[/name_f]. I am not sure if that matters or not

Thanks for your help. Any insight is greatly appreciated!!!

One vote for [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]. I like it so much more than [name_f]Elodie[/name_f].

[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] flows better than [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]. [name_m]Both[/name_m] names are adorable, though!

I defiantly prefer [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], especially with your older kids names, so [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] gets my vote.

This is a tough one. On the one hand, the flow of “[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]” is not ideal. On the other hand, neither is [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] __ [name_f]Marie[/name_f].

I think [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] is a tad more substantial, will age better, and fits a little better with your children’s names, though, so as much as I love [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] wins by a hair for me.

[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] by far!

I like both names a lot. [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] is probably my favourite but I think [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] ([name_f]Ellie[/name_f]) goes better with [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] and [name_f]Myka[/name_f].
[name_m]Jaxon[/name_m], [name_f]Myka[/name_f] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] sounds like a good sibset to me.

I prefer [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] to [name_f]Maisie[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]. Not keen on [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] - it sounds like [name_f]Melody[/name_f].

I love the name [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], its so sweet and I think it goes better with [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Marie[/name_f].

I agree [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is a mouthful. We have also talked about [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]. I appreciate all the input! Naming little people is stressful.

I actually adore [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] on its own. I prefer [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] over [name_f]Maisie[/name_f].

[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] is cute, but it always make me think of [name_f]Melody[/name_f] without the M. Also, lots of girls are named something that starts with [name_f]El[/name_f], then nicknamed [name_f]Ellie[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] with [name_f]Myka[/name_f]. Then both girls would have an M name.

I much prefer [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] to [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]. I think it would go fine in your sibset.

I would choose [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] for two reasons:

  1. You already have an “M” name perhaps leaving [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] out, maybe making [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] seem a stepchild.

  2. [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] is becoming more and more common.

In my opinion [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] wins by a landslide!

[name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] and [name_f]Myka[/name_f] seem like complete names, while [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] is nicknamey. I love the name, but next to sister [name_f]Myka[/name_f] (love it) it’s a bit cutesy. I have met more Maisies than Elodies (actually I’ve never met an [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]) but I am wary of Ellies these days. If the online forums are accurate reflections [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is going to be a huge trend. So I guess I’d choose [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] but have a back up nn idea in case there are lots of Ellies in your area. [name_f]Lolo[/name_f]? [name_f]Deedee[/name_f]?
