I thought I’d set aside [name_f]Lola[/name_f]–I can’t imagine using it as a standalone name, and the few full names for [name_f]Lola[/name_f] I like, I wasn’t sure I LOVED enough to want to use–but I can’t get [name_f]Lola[/name_f] out of my head. So I’m revisiting a few of my favorites to get to [name_f]Lola[/name_f]–[name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] being at the top of the list right now. ([name_f]Elodie[/name_f]‘s also a maybe, but I had named my last persnickety, ornery, overly-dramatic car [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], so I am not sure I can see [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] as a name I super want to give a daughter, even though I do think it’s a beautiful name! Plus, I think [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] is gorgeous with my other favorite girls’ names.)
So I’ve started looking at combos. So far I’m really liking [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] [name_f]Noemi[/name_f] (och, my heart!) and [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], although I quite like [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] [name_f]Honor[/name_f], too (which just happens to honor family). [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] [name_f]Mercy[/name_f] is also a maybe.
Any ideas for [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f]?
I vote for [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] [name_f]Noemi[/name_f]!
I think [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] is a nice way to get to [name_f]Lola[/name_f]. I would never have thought to call an [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] [name_f]Lola[/name_f].
I only know ONE [name_f]Lola[/name_f] and her name is Eloah. As I can see the similarities between Eloah and [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] (I can even see Eloah as a nickname for the latter), I have no problems with [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f].
About the name [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] itself: Heloísa (pronounced the same way) is a normal choice in [name_m]Brasil[/name_m] (nicknamed [name_f]El[/name_f]ô/Helô) and, occasionally, I’m mistaken for one (real name: [name_f]Lu[/name_f]ísa). While I hate being called [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], Heloísa is so elegant that I’m not bothered by it.
In other words, I like and approve your choice of [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f]. ;D
I can see [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as a nn for [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]. [name_f]Lola[/name_f] is such a fun nn, of course I am a bit biased as it is my nn
hahahaha, [name_f]Jenni[/name_f], how did I know?!
Thanks, everyone! I do like [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] [name_f]Noemi[/name_f] a lot, but I’m not 100% sure–does anyone have any other ideas for a mn for [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f]?
I used to have [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] “[name_f]Lola[/name_f]” on my list a long time ago (2012?). [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] would be cute too but not sure if that’s your style.
I really like [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] [name_f]Honor[/name_f], [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], & [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] [name_f]Noemi[/name_f] a lot too!
@gildedfairyx - thank you for your suggestions! I’m not generally a fan of [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]/[name_f]Clio[/name_f]/[name_f]Clea[/name_f], but [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] [name_f]Clio[/name_f] is rather nice! I do like [name_f]Clio[/name_f] better than [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], I think.
I really like [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] and [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] from your suggestions–both word names are really significant to me personally. [name_f]Opal[/name_f] is also a family name, and [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] [name_f]Opal[/name_f] intrigues me, but I don’t think I love it as much as the others?
