First off, what are your overall thoughts on the name [name]Eloise[/name]? What are your favorite nicknames for it? I think I would use [name]Eloise[/name] most of the time, but occasionally would use [name]Lulu[/name], and maybe [name]Elle[/name]/[name]El[/name]. Also, what are some middle names you think sound good with it? I don’t want anything too common or filler, and maybe something a little spunky…I’m not exactly sure.
I was looking at the SSA baby name list, and in 2008 it wasn’t on the list, then in 2009 went to 913, and in 2010 it jumped to 530. Any clue why?! [name]Do[/name] you see it getting a lot more popular? I’m nervous it will make a few big jumps now!
Its only in the top 500, I’d start to worry when it gets to the top 100. It definitely has the potential to get popular what with [name]Ella[/name] and [name]Eleanor[/name], but I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Some mn ideas:
I love it! Very cute, but would definitely work on a teenager/adult. It’s very elegant. [name]Lulu[/name] is a great nn for a baby/toddler, super adorable. And there’s always the option of [name]Elle[/name]. The first name that came to mind was [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Ren[/name]ée. I think that a lot of older names are coming back, but I don’t see [name]Eloise[/name] getting much higher in popularity than it is right now. It’s a well known name, but not too common
It’s not the fact that it’s in the 500s that worries me, it’s the huge jump that it made that concerns me!
Awesome suggestions, I really like…
[name]Eloise[/name] [name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name] [name]Luna[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name] [name]Marigold[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name] [name]Poppy[/name] --[name]Poppy[/name] is a new love of mine, and I really like it paired with [name]Eloise[/name]!
[name]Eloise[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name]
Ok. Now I see where you [name]MAY[/name] be concerned. The new SSA statistics should be coming out very soon, sometime in [name]May[/name], and hold tight till then. If [name]Eloise[/name] makes another huge leap, then maybe you should be concerned, if not, then I’d use it. Either way, if you love it that much, I’d still use it.
I think [name]Eloise[/name] is lovely! I agree with the pp that you might want to wait until the SSA list is released before settling on it.
Another nickname that’s used in the South for [name]Louise[/name] and [name]Eloise[/name] is Ousie (Weezy), but that might be a little too old fashioned and southern for your taste.
It is my absolute favorite favorite name! [name]Eloise[/name] is perfectly adorable, it is unique, fresh and darling. I worry about popularity too though, because it’s my plan for my future daughter in like ten years :), but I hope it retains it’s uniqueness. I think it’s perfect now, because it’s familiar but when people hear it, they will think it’s so fresh. And my favorite nickname, [name]Lula[/name]. I’ve heard [name]Lulu[/name] and [name]Lola[/name], so I hope [name]Lula[/name] works. I think so. [name]Lula[/name] is quirky and very sweet. On my list, I have [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Amabel[/name] and [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Fleur[/name]. Actually, I have the double middle thing going on, [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Amabel[/name] [name]Fleur[/name]. But more ideas…
I used to take care of an [name]Eloise[/name], she should be 4 now.
I hated the name at first, but it quickly grew on me in the sea of [name]Ava[/name]'s and [name]Ellie[/name]'s. Her mom was ahead of the curve
She only went by [name]Eloise[/name], don’t remember her middle
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Eloise[/name] - as I should, one of our twin daughters carries this name. Her full name is [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Cleo[/name] [name]Bellamy[/name], and she goes by the nickname [name]Lola[/name] 75% of the time (the other 25% she is [name]Eloise[/name]).
Other middle names to consider:
[name]Eloise[/name] [name]Viola[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name] [name]Evette[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name] [name]Wren[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name] [name]Plum[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name] [name]Belle[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name] [name]Blake[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name] [name]Lark[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name] [name]Indigo[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name] [name]Celeste[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name] [name]Fiona[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name] [name]Daisy[/name]
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Eloise[/name], and I love the image I get from it.
I like the nickname [name]Elle[/name] most. I think it has the potential to get more popular because I’ve seen it mentioned a fair bit on here. But ranking at 530 isn’t high at all.
My initial reaction to [name]Eloise[/name] is [name]LOVE[/name]! It is pretty and spunky at the same time. If I were to pick a nn for it, my favorite would be [name]Ellie[/name], [name]Lulu[/name] comes in second.
My [name]MIL[/name]'s middle name is [name]Louise[/name]. I’ve often wondered if I could get away with using [name]Eloise[/name] spelled, [name]Elouise[/name] in honor of her. What do yall think?
Wow lots of awesome middle name suggestions, I have a lot to consider!
I never thought of [name]Lula[/name] as a nickname for [name]Eloise[/name]. I [name]LOVE[/name] it, but I guess it just didn’t click. So maybe she’d be a mix of [name]Lulu[/name], [name]Lula[/name], and [name]Elle[/name].
I think you could use the spelling [name]Eloise[/name] to honor [name]Louise[/name], it’s the same sound! But then again, I’m pretty open when it comes to honoring. I think [name]Elouise[/name] would be a pain for her, plus it does look a little odd, in my opinion.
I love [name]Eloise[/name] so much, it’s in my top 5 for sure. I have [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Veda[/name] [name]Lily[/name] on my list. I like [name]Lula[/name] for a nickname but I also really like [name]Lola[/name] too.
I think its a really pretty name that’s easy for people to pronounce with a cute book series to go with it! I say go for it, depending on where you live I doubt its popularity will be an issue.
