Eloise Amelie?

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think the flow is odd in the combo [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]? [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] has significance to me. Is [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] better?

Thank you! The el sound repeating made me question how good the flow was, but thanks for your feedback!

I would prefer [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] to vary the stressed syllables.

It’s not awful, but the repeated emphasis on the ‘el’ sound isn’t ideal. I like the above poster’s suggestion of [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] is a fraction better as well.

[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] is beautiful! I think it will work well, especially if you have a short surname.

I actually clicked on this thread specifically because I really like the name as is - especially since [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] has meaning to you.

I don’t think it flows too well, personally. It’s not the repeated “el”- which I didn’t even notice until a PP mentioned it, though I’m saying ah-[name_f]MAY[/name_f]-lee rather ah-[name_u]MEL[/name_u]-lee so it doesn’t sound repeated to me. For me it’s the fact that both are three syllables with the stress on the second syllable that makes it a bit singsongy to me. It’s not a deal-breaker if you really love it- how often are your first and middle name said out loud together anyways?- but [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] would flow a lot better.

[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] rolls better off the tongue for me than [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u].
I find the ee-[name_f]El[/name_f] sounds together a bit tricky.

I would prefer [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] or even better [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], but [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] could still work!

I agree that I prefer [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] to [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], but [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] is perfectly fine. [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] does not flow well at all imo.

i think it works well. I prefer [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] to [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u].

[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] is fine!

[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] is lovely, but it feels like its trying very hard to be [name_m]French[/name_m].

Thanks to all that responded. [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] has a a huge significance to me, and is the only intentional honor name on my list.

I was definitely worried about that. I take [name_m]French[/name_m] so they were on the (not so) awesome list of french names we were offered. I may just use [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] as sisters, because I have combos for both.

I agree with you that [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] would make great sisters. I think [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] as a combo is lovely. I much prefer it over [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], or [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u].

[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] would be perfect, to me.
