Eloise...Too Plaza--y???

I love the name [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] for my MC but I know that there’s the huge literary association already. I like [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] too, but the [name_f]El[/name_f]- part of [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] really seals the deal for me. I’m really just looking for a name with a vintage feel but that’s also a bit sleek and classy. Oh, and my MC lives in the American South. Thoughts and suggestions?

I don’t think [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] is that popular of a name in the south, so it might not work if your character is from there. If you character is originally from another state/country it and move to the south then it would make more sense. [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is probably more likely if the character is a native to there.

More Vintage, Sleek and Classy [name_f]El[/name_f] names:
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and all its variations
[name_f]Elena[/name_f]
[name_f]Elinor[/name_f] or [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellen[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
[name_f]Elle[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]

I think, if your character is southern and not a transplant, [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (Maybe use the spelling [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f], here?) and [name_f]Ellen[/name_f] are your best options.
