Eloise 🌻

Thoughts on the name [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]? What would you think if you met a little girl called [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]? How many Eloise’s have you come across (old and young) in your lifetime?

Also, specifically what do you think of the combination: [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] ? (Pearl is an honour name for both of my nan’s)

I know there’s a few nicknames but the only one I would want to use would be Lulu…does this seem feasible to you? [name_u]Or[/name_u] long stretch?

So many questions  thank you in advance!

i adore eloise! such a lovely, timeless name :heartpulse:
i think i know… 2 eloises? one was a five-year-old girl, and one is a friend of a friend.
eloise pearl is chef’s kiss :ok_hand: wonderful combo!
and while lulu is not the most intuitive nickname, i still think it works.

lovely name, overall!

I absolutely adore this name I have tried to get my husband on board so badly but he won’t budge! It’s classic and beautiful, I have never met a little [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] but recently saw an acquaintance from HS used it for her little girl and was in love :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is a timeless classic in my opinion. I’ve met two in my life, so it’s not that common, but the name is not unusual.

[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is a gorgeous combination and I think [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] is a cute NN that works for [name_f]Eloise[/name_f].

Question, how do you all pronounce [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]? I had a coworker named [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and she pronounced it el-oise but everyone else i’ve met with this name (maybe 3 others) pronounce is el-oh-ees/el-oh-eez

I think Eloise is perfectly sweet and charming.

I’ve actually never met an Eloise of any age irl, but I’d love to encounter it on a little girl! And Eloise Pearl is absolutely gorgeous. <3

“Lulu” is a a bit of a stretch for me, but that’s because the way I pronounce Eloise doesn’t have a “Lu” sound. But some people, I believe, pronounce it like “ell-louise”, and if that’s how you are saying it, I think “Lulu” makes perfect sense.

But, either way you say it, I do think I agree with @lemonrose:

[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is such a lovely name! It has vintage charm, and gives me bright, spunky imagery. I’d be thrilled to meet a little Eloise; I haven’t known any Eloises actually. But I can easily see it on anyone young or old!

[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is beautiful, and leans deep into the vintage feel of both names – not an issue for me, personally. A very nice way to use that honor! Also will suggest [name_f]Pearla[/name_f] if that interests you at all (:

[name_f]Lulu[/name_f] is a bit of a stretch but not an impossible jump to make from [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]. Overall a great choice!

I love [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] (obviously, given my username, lol). I’ve loved it since I was a little girl, due the [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] books and movie. I’ve not met a real-life [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] before, but it is definitely an elegant yet wearable name. [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] is a cute and accessible nickname! [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is gorgeous

Perfection! I love the names together and it’s wonderful that [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is so meaningful for your family. [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] is a cute nickname and shares some of the sounds in [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] so I think it works well, plus it isn’t overly common like I feel [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is. I do know a sweet eight year old named [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]. I think you have a winner!

[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is gorgeous and sounds so classic yet modern. I don’t think [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] is a stretch at all and I think it’s a darling nickname.

I’ve met one [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] in my life and that was in [name_f]France[/name_f] and I overheard a little girl being called [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] when I was at my doctors’ office once.

I LOVE [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]! I wish I was able to use it … I’m still trying to decide if I can. (I have a friend who named her puppy [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], and I ADORE that puppy, but um … I don’t know. I mean, I was named after my dad’s dog, but I don’t know if I want to carry on the tradition. :stuck_out_tongue: ) Other than that, it’s nothing but positive associations! I used it for a character in one of my books, and she goes by [name_f]Lola[/name_f], but [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] is totally doable. Also, [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Loie[/name_f], [name_f]Lilou[/name_f], [name_u]Lou[/name_u].

I’ve actually never met an [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] other than the puppy (and darned if I didn’t suggest the name myself, gah – she was like, “I know you love names. What’s a kind of elegant vintage name you love?” and I sent her a list!) and the character I named. But I wish I knew more! I think it’s so pretty.

[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is a gorgeous combo!

I took a bit of a double-take while reading this over, [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is one of the combos I’ve had on my long list! Ultimately [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] has more meaning for me personally, but I think there’s something so classy and beautiful about the combo [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]. And it honors your nan’s, which is so perfect!

[name_f]Lulu[/name_f] is probably my favorite nickname for [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] too, such a cute one! I like [name_f]Lola[/name_f] too. I think both are reasonable nicknames, not overly stretchy in any way!

And I don’t personally know anyone named [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], though I do know a [name_f]Heloise[/name_f] and she wears it very well!

The only one I’ve known in person was older. I think I would love it to meet a little girl [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]! And [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is perfect pairing, especially with the family ties. I think [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] could work as a nn too
