Elon...too different?

Our first son is called [name_m]Casper[/name_m], we liked it because it was unusual (only 100 or so boys called [name_m]Casper[/name_m] every year in the uk) yet also well known.only my grandmother was surprised by our choice. It seems to be making choosing a next tougher :slight_smile: we’re only 6 weeks pregnant but never too early to have choices!
My hubby likes [name_u]Elon[/name_u] but I’d never heard of it-uneducated obviously!!! I worry it’s too wierd! I do like it but also like [name_m]Aubin[/name_m], [name_u]August[/name_u]
What are your opinions and suggestions

With [name_u]Elon[/name_u] Musk being in the news so often I wouldn’t use it. But I’m in the US so you might not have the same coverage.

I’m in the UK and have never heard of [name_u]Elon[/name_u] Musk, so I don’t think there’s much of an issue there. My honest opinion on [name_u]Elon[/name_u] is that it’s an OK name, but a little bit bland and a little bit samey in terms of sound/shape to lots of popular boys’ names at the moment.

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Aubin[/name_m] and think it’s a perfect brother name for [name_m]Casper[/name_m] - both distinctive, striking and masculine but also a little bit sweet. [name_u]August[/name_u] is a nice, strong-but-sensitive name as well.

You might like [name_m]Eben[/name_m] ([name_m]EB[/name_m]-un)? It feels a little bit bolder and weightier than [name_u]Elon[/name_u] to me, but shares its fashionable shape.

I really am liking aubin, it’s also a place in jersey that has lots of family history. And aubi is a pretty cool if not slightly star warsy nickname!
My only concern is that I like long romantic girls names and think maybe that will rule out these names in the future…

[name_u]Elon[/name_u] is a university in [name_u]North[/name_u] [name_f]Carolina[/name_f]. It’s the first thing I think of and honestly don’t like it as a given name.
