So I am 20 weeks 5 days pregnant with our second baby, and we just found out that is another girl!! Our first daughter is named [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u], and we are having a hard time finding a girl name that compliments her name as a sibling!
The name that is at the top of our list is [name_u]Eden[/name_u]. Not sure of a middle yet, but we can’t seem to find another name that is so down to earth and pretty!
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] nature names. Ones that aren’t too frilly, but still feminine.
So my main question is: Are [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u] too similar? If you heard these names as sisters, what would you think?
Also, if you do think they are too close, what would be another option?
Thanks so much for any input. Girls names give me anxiety! haha One of the reasons we were hoping for a boy… so much easier to name! But we are SO thrilled to be team pink again!
My only concern with [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u] is you might feel locked into another “begins with E ends with N” name if you have more daughters. But I don’t think they are too similar if that isn’t a concern.
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u] is lovely!
I’d say they’re pretty close, also the huge difference in popularity is quite jarring. [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] isn’t in the top 1000 and [name_u]Eden[/name_u] is in the top 200 on the charts
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u]… how tranquil! [name_u]Eden[/name_u] is one of my favorite names, so I want to vote for it but I would have the same concerns as @zpk. I don’t see a problem with [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and [name_f]Lyla[/name_f], for example, but if YOU think your third child would be left out, then I would avoid another E name for this little one. There’s no denying [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u] are close, but if it doesn’t bother you, I think you could use them together!
Other names you might like:

Good luck picking a name! Congratulations on your newest sweet little girl!
Congrats! BTW, [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u] is simply lovely! I think [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u] are a tad matchy. I think you could certainly get away with using them for sisters, seeing how 98% of the people you will come into contact with with not be name enthusiasts on the same level as most of the folks here.
Here are some suggestions…
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Carys[/name_f]

[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Linnet[/name_f]

[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u] and [name_f]Callista[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u]
What about [name_u]Arden[/name_u]? It means “valley of the eagle” (and is the name of the forest in As You Like It) and has a similar feel to [name_u]Eden[/name_u].
Or [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], another forest-y name.
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] also comes to mind. [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Olive[/name_f] have symmetry without being too matchy.
I went diving into other Celtic, Welsh and Cornish names. Here are more possibilities that are less matchy with [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]:
[name_f]Avalon[/name_f]
[name_f]Briar[/name_f]
[name_f]Brynna[/name_f] (“hill”)
Caya (“daisy”)
[name_f]Glenna[/name_f]
[name_f]Nessa[/name_f] (“second” — not nature-based, but could be appropriate for your second daughter)
[name_f]Rosen[/name_f]
[name_u]Seren[/name_u] (“star”)
I was already thinking of a nature name just reading the title of the thread! I love how earthy and magical [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] sounds. I think [name_u]Eden[/name_u] is too close to [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], yes.
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] would be very pretty together, I also like [name_f]Fern[/name_f], [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] and [name_f]Briar[/name_f]. [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] and [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] sound good together, too.
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Fern[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Maple[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Laurel[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Briar[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Meadow[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Twila[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] (not a nature name but pretty)
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Acacia[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]
I think [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u] are great together. If you were to have a third girl and wanted to continue the E trend, there are many options!
