I am crushing on this combo hard today, as it makes me picture a free spirited little girl with fairy wings running barefoot through the woods…
But i feel like every little girl i meet these days is either names [name]Ellie[/name] or has the nn [name]Ellie[/name], I would want to [name]Winnie[/name] to be her NN but i fear it would become [name]Ellie[/name]…could i avoid [name]Ellie[/name] if i push [name]Winnie[/name] hard enough or is it unavoidable?
I definitely don’t think it’s unavoidable. I had the same reservations about naming my daughter [name]Elizabeth[/name] because I really didn’t want the nickname [name]Lizzie[/name]. People pretty much respected that. I wanted her nickname to be [name]Evie[/name] because those are her initials but when she was born it just didn’t feel right. She became [name]Libby[/name] and I absolutely love it, it fits her perfectly. Nicknames usually figure themselves out and if you really don’t like [name]Ellie[/name] I think people would be polite enough to avoid it.
I can see why you are crushing on this combo. [name]Elowen[/name] [name]Judith[/name] [name]Ann[/name] is really pretty. I think you can avoid [name]Ellie[/name] and go with [name]Winnie[/name]. Since there is not -ie sound in [name]Elowen[/name], [name]Ellie[/name] isn’t as obvious a nn and with something like [name]Elinor[/name].
I also adore the nn [name]Winn[/name], [name]Win[/name], or [name]Wynn[/name]!
