I’m really not crazy about either, but I far prefer [name_f]Elowen[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]. I think it is sweet and soft and not something you see everyday. I love the meaning of it and I could see a nice, calm girl named this. Good choice.

Middle name- [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f], [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f], [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f], [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Rayne[/name_f].

[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] is a lovely combo! Another middle name that goes well with [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] (and indeed [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]) is [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f].

I get you about the different vibes - I agree, [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]'s feel is more feyfolk-ish. For some reason I got it into my head that [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]'s meaning was meadow flower, so now I associate [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] with a meadow full of long wind-swept grass with wildflowers and pines in the background. And with a particular character called [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_u]Marian[/name_u] [name_u]Armel[/name_u], who has golden hair.

Personally I wouldn’t use any nicknames for either of them (or at any rate wouldn’t plan to!) as they’re only 3 syllables and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] in particular doesn’t take long to say.

My first and only introduction to the name [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] (or [name_f]Elody[/name_f]) was in a teenage novel where the character was pretty shallow, so I’m probably biased against it. Sound-wise, though, I like it.

[name_f]Elowen[/name_f]/Elowyn used to be one of my favorite names! I think this is such a beautiful and graceful name. It gets my vote for sure.

[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] is beautiful! [name_u]Unique[/name_u] and enchanting, it’s my favorite.
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] sounds like [name_f]Melody[/name_f], so I feel like it would be misheard frequently… Both are really great choices though, I just prefer [name_f]Elowen[/name_f].

I love them both!

I love [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]!

This is such a tough choice! I love both, I don’t think you can go wrong either way. [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] is more familiar and a bit more “casual” sounding to me, while maintaining the idea of [name_m]French[/name_m] elegance. [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] is more magical and unique. Both are beautiful :).

If I had to choose for my own daughter, I would probably use [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]. Mostly because I love “wen” endings in general, and my own name ends in an “ee” sound ([name_u]Hillary[/name_u] and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] is a bit much.)

[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]'s my fave!

This is a tough one but I’m going to pick [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] maybe because it’s slightly more feminine??? Although I do love unisex names so that’s not really an issue… I’m just trying to come up with a reason for picking [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] over [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]… I love both!! Lol
