After finding out we are having a baby girl, my husband and I are struggling to decide on a name. We both loved [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] and [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] for boys names but haven’t really come up with a girls name we really love. At the moment we are tossing up between:
My great grandmothers name was [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and my [name_f]Nan[/name_f]'s name is [name_u]June[/name_u]. Our surname starts with L and any name that ends with er or a do not go with it.
I completely agree with @mom2one2. I absolutely adore [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], such a sweet, eenergetic, fun vintage name! [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] makes a great combo, without the double ee ending of [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Maree[/name_f], and I also prefer [name_u]Finn[/name_u] on a boy.
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] doesn’t flow well to me but I think [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_u]Finn[/name_u] is adorable! It would be refreshing to see [name_u]Finn[/name_u] used for a girl :). I also love [name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u], it is such a lovely name. I’m not sure about [name_f]Maree[/name_f] though. [name_m]How[/name_m] is it supposed to be pronounced? [name_f]MAR[/name_f]-ee or like [name_f]Marie[/name_f]?
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] to honor both your grandmothers, or considering 3 names since your possibilities are short? I think [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] is sweet.
I agree that [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] would be fabulous.
I like [name_u]Finn[/name_u] as an alternative nickname for [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], but not as a given name for a girl, as a given name it is ALL boy.
If you love [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] for a boy and might have more children in the future I would avoid using the very similar [name_u]Finn[/name_u] for a girl! If that’s not a problem maybe you could consider Finnlie ([name_u]Finlay[/name_u], [name_f]Finlie[/name_f]?) for you girl- to me the added ending makes it softer!
You have so many great options and I agree with what’s been said so far!
[name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]! The others just pale in comparison to me, but most names pale in comparison to [name_f]Adele[/name_f] for me, haha. [name_u]Finn[/name_u] is too masculine for me, and [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] too cutesy. If you wanted to honor both, I think [name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_f]Elisabetta[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] or [name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] would be beyond adorable.
Another vote for [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]! My second choice is [name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]. I like [name_u]Finn[/name_u] for a boy.
It really is too bad that your name doesn’t go with ER ending mns because [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] is just the most adorable name As it is, however, I really also like the alternative [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Juno[/name_f], which gives it a sweet galaxy-girl vibe in my personal opinion.
Sorry for the late reply, haven’t had a chance to get back on and see all your amazing responses.
I still [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_u]Finn[/name_u] and the more I re-play [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] in my mind, the more it seems to flow (possible wishful thinking). My husband likes both names however doesn’t like them together. [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_u]Finn[/name_u] might work?
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] is beautiful however the Husband is unsure about it.
What do you think about [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Thea[/name_f]/[name_f]Theodora[/name_f]? My husbands late granddad nn was Ted and would love to honour him with our baby girls name.
