Elsie or Elise or Eloise?

Nickname is going to be Ellie.

Hm, I’m conflicted!

On the one hand, while both are lovely, I like Elsie more. I think she’s so incredibly sweet, but still very wearable on an adult woman, I love her warm, cozy sound, and that she’s on-trend but not overdone! :blossom:

On the other hand, Ellie doesn’t really make sense to me as a nickname for Elsie! It’s the same amount of syllables with the same ending, so it’s really just the same name missing one letter. To me, it doesn’t work. With that in mind, if you want to call her Ellie, I’d go for Elise!

I like [name_f]Elise[/name_f] much, much better.
Especially since she’s having that nickname.

I prefer [name_f]Elise[/name_f]! [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] has always sounded too nickname-y to me on its own.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is definitely [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] :ballet_shoes:

She’s elegant, sweet and has this pretty preppy feel which I really like. She’s beautiful a real favourite of mine. For me she has imagery surrounding spring days, tulips and daffodils, ballet and lemons. Such a lovely name!

I like Eloise the best - am clearly biased but I find it Frenchy chic, commanding but also very pretty and sprightly. I’m not a fan of Ellie at all but with Eloise you can also shorten to Elle, Elo, Essie, Lulu, Lois and even Elsie - so you can get a two in one there.

Elise is very elegant and self-assured. I just don’t like “Lise” and I think as much as you’d want to push for Ellie, I think Lise would come up pretty naturally. Elise is a go-to middle name because I love it said as a full name.

Elsie is super sweet, I just prefer it as a nickname (eg for Elisabeth or even Eloise). Also it doesn’t seem intuitive to shorten Elsie to Ellie as they’re the same length and both diminutives. I would keep Elsie as Elsie!

I say either [name_f]Elise[/name_f] or [name_f]Eloise[/name_f].

I’d go with [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] if you want to have nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] :slight_smile: [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is elegant and beautiful and as much as I love [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], it’s already a nickname so it feels a bit redundant to use [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is lovely too and would be my second pick :slight_smile:

[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]

[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] but love the nickname [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is definitely [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]. I also think it is your best option (along with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] or Elinor) if you plan on calling her [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. I also prefer [name_f]Elise[/name_f] to [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] because [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] sounds too much like a nickname and I am not keen on diminutives on birth certificates.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]! I think it is livelier than [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and [name_f]Elise[/name_f]. [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is elegant and bright, friendly and energetic!
[name_f]My[/name_f] second choice would be [name_f]Elise[/name_f] which is also a beautiful classic. [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is very gentle and fresh!

[name_f]Elise[/name_f] is my favorite, but [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] makes the most sense as a nickname for [name_f]Eloise[/name_f].

[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]! As @EloiseT has commented, the nickname options are lovely. [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is nice too if you are really set on it but it is very overused where I live so has lost its shine for me.

I would rule [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] out and use it as an occasional nickname, because it’s so adorable :blush:

I would pick [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] :sunny: But [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is lovely too.

[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] - :ballet_shoes::mirror::open_book::violin:
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] - :sunflower::womans_hat::honey_pot::honeybee:
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] - :teddy_bear::woman_cartwheeling:t2::ferris_wheel::hatching_chick:

[name_f]Elise[/name_f]!

I love [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] nickname [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]!

I would probably go with [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] for a nickname of [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], I agree [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] nickname [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is a bit repetitive

[name_f]Eliana[/name_f]
[name_f]Elspeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
Eletta
[name_f]Eliora[/name_f]

You can also look at girl names that end in “Elle” to get [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]

[name_f]Aubrielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Luella[/name_f]
[name_f]Marielle[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] nickname [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Marielle[/name_f] and [name_f]Luella[/name_f] too

You can definitely get creative with it! We have [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] and call her [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Pick Elise!!!

[name_m]Can[/name_m] you tell it’s our daughter’s name? Haha. Timeless and elegant.

I like [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]! I feel like the nickname [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] fits the best with [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] as well
