Elsie Rae Leslie

I need advice!

We’ve fallen in love with [name]Elsie[/name] [name]Rae[/name] for our little girl, and then heard from a couple people that [name]Elsie[/name] [name]Leslie[/name] ([name]Leslie[/name] is our last name) sounds too rhymey. What does everyone think? I honestly don’t think it’s that bad, but I don’t want her to be tormented with a horrible name!

Thanks!!

I don’t think it’s too rhymes but I do find the names too close - it makes me think of a word jumble. But [name]Elsie[/name] [name]Rae[/name] is so pretty I’d say go for it. Maybe [name]Elsie[/name]-[name]Rae[/name] would work better that way the rhymey-ness would be less obvious. You can still call her [name]Elsie[/name] for short but at least on paperwork and in school teachers would call her [name]Elsie[/name]-[name]Rae[/name] [name]Leslie[/name].

I like the suggestion of [name]Elsie[/name]-[name]Rae[/name].

[name]Elsie[/name] [name]Leslie[/name] is a little too similar for my taste… would be better if could come up with something else unless you went with [name]Elsie[/name]-[name]Rae[/name]…

They are kind of close. I like the suggestion of Elizabeth nn Elsie

Some other names that Elsie could work for (and go well with Leslie)…
Elspeth nn Elsie
Anneliese nn Elsie
Angelisa nn Elsie
Aristelle/Stella nn Elsie
Belisse nn Elsie
Celeste/Celesta/Celestine nn Elsie
Cecelia nn Elsie
Celine/Celina/Selene/Selena nn Elsie
Cerelia/Cerelisa nn Elsie
Chrystelle nn Elsie
Cybel/Cybela nn Elsie
Delancy nn Elsie
Elena/Eleanor/Eleanora/Eliana/Eliora/Elora nn Elsie
Elisabetta/Elizabella nn Elsie

And, well, any name containing -el and an S sound.

The ie or y sound with [name]Leslie[/name] does sound a bit rhymey to me. I also love the [name]Elsie[/name]-[name]Rae[/name] for the full first name. It sounds so beautiful together and breaks up the ie or y sound with the last name, [name]Leslie[/name].

I love [name]Elsie[/name] [name]Rae[/name] it’s so beautiful and sweet together. [name]Elsie[/name] [name]Leslie[/name] is kind of ie/l heavy but it’s not so bad I wouldn’t use it and you can always use [name]Elsie[/name] [name]Rae[/name] like a compound name and help seperate [name]Elsie[/name] and [name]Leslie[/name]. [name]Elsie[/name] [name]Rae[/name] [name]Leslie[/name] sounds lovely.

[name]Elsie[/name] and [name]Leslie[/name] are too close.

I think it is fine if you love it :). I am not a fan of double names. [name]Elsie[/name] is nice though!

It’s too close for my liking. [name]Elsa[/name] [name]Leslie[/name] isn’t as bad.

[name]Elsie[/name] [name]Leslie[/name] is a little rhymie. But I think [name]Elsie[/name]-[name]Rae[/name] is cute or [name]Elsa[/name] [name]Leslie[/name]. And you could call her [name]Elsie[/name] as a nickname. Ie I am [name]Jess[/name] but my parents only call me [name]Jessie[/name]. xx
