Elsie???

Hey Berries,
I really like the name [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]. Could It work as a full name? Does it grow with a child? I like the idea of a full name, but I don’t know which one I like. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is nice, but too popular for me (it is a family name though), [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] would get confused with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] is connected to Frozen (a movie I don’t really like) and is the same number of syllables as [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], so it doesn’t make sense for [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] to be a nickname and [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] is one I like =, but, does it sound to “lispy” to you?

I really like the [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], would [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] work as a nickname to [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. I’m not really a fan of [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Ella[/name_f] as they are so popular?!

Thanks guys.

I think [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] could definitely work for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]!

[name_f]Eleanora[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Elena[/name_f]
Eladia
[name_f]Ellen[/name_f]
[name_f]Elyse[/name_f]
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f]
[name_f]Celestine[/name_f]

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] works!

Others:
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] / [name_f]Eleonora[/name_f]
[name_f]Elisabetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Elysia[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f]
[name_f]Elissa[/name_f] / [name_f]Elisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Elora[/name_f] / [name_f]Eliora[/name_f]

[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] definitely can be a full name. I also think it works as a nickname to [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. I was going to suggest [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] and see it has already been. Maybe Elisabit.

I think [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is perfect on its own. [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f], and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] are great full names for it, but I personally think [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is a bit of a stretch… [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like Elsinore?

I think [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] could be a stand alone name, but I would prefer it as a nn for [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]. There’s also Elsabet/Elsabeth

[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is fantastic on her own!

[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is a gorgeous stand alone name. I do like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] too! Or another suggestion is [name_f]Elise[/name_f]

[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is gorgeous enough on her own and is definitely a name that suits all ages. I do love it as a nickname for [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] as well, and I think [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] is underrated as a name so would love to see it shine!

Thanks for all your help guys!

I think it definitely works for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]!

I also really like [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f], too. Or [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f], if you prefer.

Maybe [name_f]Elise[/name_f]

I’m of the mind that you should name a child what you will call them. If you want her to be “[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]” then name her “[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]”. In my family there are several Elsies, myself included. It grows and it has its own avenues for nicknames if she doesn’t like “[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]”.

I think [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] works fine as a full name. It’s really popular in full where I live. I can definitely see it working perfectly well for an adult. I really love [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f], which isn’t lispy in my opinion, but another great name, but I would just use [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] in full if that’s all you want to use.
