Elula?

I just fell in love with this name pronounced eh-lu-lah. What are your thoughts on it? I also like [name_m]Elul[/name_m] for a boy but I don’t know which one I like better. The middle name will be [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] either way.

[name_f]Elula[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]
[name_m]Elul[/name_m] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]

I prefer [name_m]Elul[/name_m] to [name_f]Elula[/name_f].

Based on your signature (Tzipporah [name_u]Yael[/name_u] is gorgeous!!!) I’m sure you know that [name_m]Elul[/name_m] is a Hebrew month and [name_f]Elula[/name_f] is the feminized version. It’s basically the equivalent of [name_u]August[/name_u] which makes it a bit off with [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]. I’m sure most people wouldn’t know the month of [name_m]Elul[/name_m], but it was my first thought. Otherwise, I really like [name_f]Elula[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Lula[/name_f].

I think [name_f]Elula[/name_f] is darling!

I’m not sure if I’m saying it the same way as you though, because I’ve always said [name_m]Elul[/name_m] as Eh-lull whereas I’d say [name_f]Elula[/name_f] as Eh-loo-lah. If you’re thinking of it as Eh-lull-lah I don’t like it as much.

I love lots of the names in your signature! I don’t think I’d ever be brave enough to be so Jewish in my naming, and my partner wouldn’t go for it, but it’s exciting to see someone else do it!

Thank you! Tzipporah is a long time favorite

yes eh-loo-lah, I think it would be pronounced a little different as [name_m]Elul[/name_m] for a boy. And thank you haha, I wish I had a more obviously Jewish name so I think that’s why I plan on my kids having them
