In many ways, this is my favorite name, and perhaps Émeline [name_f]Cora[/name_f] is my favorite combo for the name. I was in front of [name_f]Macy[/name_f]’s in Times Square a few years ago and there was a [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] display of antique letters to [name_f]Santa[/name_f] (such excellent penmanship!) and one of the prettiest letters was from a girl named Émeline. It’s a sweet holiday memory.
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] (which I prefer to rhyme with line, not leen) is pretty, too. But the two m’s make the name less elegant and sleek for me. Also, my great-grandfather had a rather mean aunt named [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]. I sort of hate [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], actually. It’s amazing, the difference.
