hi everyone! emerson alyse has been my girl’s name for years…now i’m second guessing it…with about 1 week until my due date! does anyone have a suggestions for me…i like multi-syllabic names and my last name is one syllable with starting with “sh”. thanks in advance for your help!
[name]Hi[/name]! Are you questioning both [name]Emerson[/name] and [name]Alyse[/name], or just [name]Alyse[/name]? The flow of [name]Emerson[/name] [name]Alyse[/name] is lovely, but it took a minute for me to figure out what name you were trying to get with “[name]Alyse[/name].” If you meant [name]Elise[/name], [name]Elise[/name] is a beautiful name, but [name]Alyse[/name] looks like a typo. (And if you meant [name]Alice[/name], the typo thing still holds true.)
I love the “[name]Em[/name]” beginning of [name]Emerson[/name], but I only think of [name]Ralph[/name] [name]Waldo[/name] [name]Emerson[/name] when I hear the name, and it’s all boy to me. When looking for middle names, I kept slipping to [name]Emmeline[/name] for the first name, which is a gorgeous, gorgeous name, and would be an elegant and feminine alternative to [name]Emerson[/name].
If you’re rethinking [name]Emerson[/name], here are some more feminine alternatives:
[name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Harper[/name]
[name]Hadley[/name]
[name]Bailey[/name]
[name]Riley[/name]
[name]Finley[/name]
[name]Avery[/name]
[name]Emery[/name]
[name]Arden[/name]
[name]Leighton[/name]
[name]Piper[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]
If you’re rethinking the middle name, here are some ideas:
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Alice[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Elise[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Annabelle[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Briony[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Eva[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Evaline[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Honor[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Poppy[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Elisabeth[/name] (similar to “[name]Elise[/name]”)
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Averil[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Aurora[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Laurel[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Astrid[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Avalon[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Mirabelle[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Lorelei[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Adeline[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Adelia[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name]
While the sound of [name]Emerson[/name] combinations do flow, the masculinity of [name]Emerson[/name] doesn’t mix with the feminine middle names. This is just my opinion, of course, and you need to pick the name that works for you.
I thought the same thing about [name]Alyse[/name]. I’m not sure if you’re pronouncing it as [name]Elyse[/name] or [name]Alice[/name]. In my opinion they’re both gorgeous, but the spelling is ambiguous. I would stick with the authentic spelling or whichever is your favorite.
As for [name]Emerson[/name], it’s not really my taste, but it’s a lovely name. Since it’s unisex, I like that you’re thinking of using a very feminine middle name, which balances it out. I prefer [name]Emerson[/name] as a middle name. [name]Alice[/name] [name]Emerson[/name] or [name]Elyse[/name] [name]Emerson[/name] would be gorgeous. That being said, if you love [name]Emerson[/name] go for it
