Emery, Everlyn and Everlee

[name_f]Everlyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Everlee[/name_f]

What are your thoughts on these two? I love the way they sound.

I always liked [name_u]Everly[/name_u], but I only truly fell in love with [name_f]Everlee[/name_f]. I like how it doesn’t feel like a surname, but like [name_u]Ever[/name_u], which I like but don’t find name-y enough, combined with [name_u]Lee[/name_u]. I think it sounds magical and reminds me of the stars and eternity.

I read [name_u]Emery[/name_u] in a book and think it’s pretty.

It also made me think of [name_f]Everlyn[/name_f]. I think it’s pretty.

Thoughts and images, please

Thanks!

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you prefer [name_f]Emily[/name_f]? [name_m]Just[/name_m] wondering. Oh and could [name_f]Eternity[/name_f] work as a name in theory?

i think eternity could absolutely work as a name! i’m a huge fan of wild word names, wanderer, ode, and prairie, for example. eternity fits right in with those rarer choices. :bubbles:

on another note, everlee and everlyn are my favorites of your choices here. they’re unique and beautiful and modern, and give me such striking imagery of little girls in floral dresses with cowgirl boots. i just can’t help but love an ever- name! you might also consider everlane and everette. :cherry_blossom:

hope this helps! :white_heart:

I prefer [name_u]Emery[/name_u] and [name_f]Emily[/name_f], myself. More established. Have history of use. Familiarity. [name_u]Emery[/name_u] still has great unisex surname feel, and [name_f]Emily[/name_f] is timeless & ageless.

I definitely prefer [name_f]Emily[/name_f] of all these names. [name_u]Emery[/name_u] just seems a little off and like it’s trying too hard to stand out but is actually just a fad name that won’t age very well, but I don’t find it too horribe. I personally dislike [name_f]Everlyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Everlee[/name_f] a lot more though. [name_f]Everlyn[/name_f] will so obviously get mistaken for [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], and it just sounds so invented and made up. Something about [name_f]Everlee[/name_f] is just really really annoying to me. I don’t really like [name_f]Every[/name_f] either, but the “ee” spelling makes it so much more made up sounding.

I think they all could work with the exception of [name_f]Everlyn[/name_f]. I get the sound its cute but it would constantly be mistaken for [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], and in some parts of the world I would guess [name_f]Everlyn[/name_f] and [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] would be pronounced the same so could cause problems on that way.

[name_u]Emery[/name_u] – [name_u]Emery[/name_u] is great! I do personally prefer the [name_u]Emory[/name_u] spelling but [name_u]Emery[/name_u] totally works as well. I think it’s sweet and I can picture it on any personality type. It has that cool unisex-surname vibe but totally works for a “girly girl” personality too. Plus [name_f]Em[/name_f] and Emmie/Emmy/Emi are very cute nicknames. This is my favorite of your options!

[name_f]Everlee[/name_f] – I think [name_f]Everlee[/name_f] is sweet! I agree with you that [name_u]Ever[/name_u] is a nice sound in a name.

[name_f]Everlyn[/name_f] – I have trouble pronouncing this one, I’m not sure why. It just gets kind of caught in my mouth and makes me feel like I’m pronouncing [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] with a very rhotic accent.

I also like [name_f]Emily[/name_f] a lot! Sweet and classic.

I think [name_f]Eternity[/name_f] would be a very bold choice. It’s too much for me personally, but maybe as a middle name?

You might also like [name_u]Ember[/name_u], [name_f]Emberlyn[/name_f], or [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]!

[name_f]Everlee[/name_f] is intriguing - it has a little more sparkle - I think it comes from the way it highlights the ‘Ever’ at the beginning? Still, it sounds the same as [name_u]Everly[/name_u], so it might be confused/still feel as popular, if that bothers you at all.

[name_u]Emery[/name_u] has a sweet, warm sound. I quite like it

[name_f]Everlyn[/name_f] is cool - like [name_f]Everlee[/name_f], it feels slightly fresher and sparklier? Reminds me of [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f], Faithlyn, [name_f]Jazlyn[/name_f] etc.

I do like [name_f]Emily[/name_f], but it has a very different vibe - classic, solid, ‘basic’ but versatile.

I can imagine [name_f]Eternity[/name_f] being used - like [name_f]Serenity[/name_f], [name_u]Unique[/name_u] etc. and nn [name_f]Etta[/name_f], [name_m]Ernie[/name_m], [name_m]Tenny[/name_m] are kind of cute! Would I use it? Probably not, but I could see others using it.

Thanks! I feel exactly the same way about the sparkle and the [name_u]Ever[/name_u] being more prominent.

Also [name_u]Everly[/name_u] means boar clearing which is okay, I like animals. But [name_f]Everlee[/name_f] to me is just [name_u]Ever[/name_u] plus [name_u]Lee[/name_u] so I see it as meaning ever and clearing which I like more.

[name_f]Everlyn[/name_f] stands out the most to me- she’s sparkly and special with a lovely meaning and a familiar sound. I do see how it could get confused for other [name_f]Eve[/name_f]- names but truly it probably wouldn’t be that big of an issue.

I also like [name_f]Everlee[/name_f]! I think I have a soft spot for any [name_u]Ever[/name_u]- names. It’s such a sweet sentiment!

[name_f]Eternity[/name_f] could definitely work as a name!
