Emilia and Elouise for sisters?

Are they too similar to be sister names? I plan on using [name_f]Ella[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Elouise[/name_f], but do those names sound weird together? I feel like it doesn’t really flow, but I absolutely adore both of those names. Also, if we decide on a third baby, any other name suggestions? Should we stick to the E theme? Thanks!

I don’t think they’re too similar at all. If you do, you could always make one a middle name and choose a different first name.

Some suggestions for the E theme:
[name_f]Elaina[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Evelina[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (nn:[name_f]Nora[/name_f])
[name_f]Elisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Elina[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Esme[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]

Others:
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliette[/name_f]
[name_f]Tess[/name_f]/[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Vera[/name_f]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] I helped.

That’s about as close as I’d be comfortable with, mostly because they’re a similar length and the beginning “E” is so prominent in both, but even that’s not exactly the same sound. (I do think [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f] are overly similar nicknames, for example, but that presumably not the plan here.) Since they don’t have the same ending or too many similar consonants, I think they work well together.

I tend to prefer sibling names that all start with a different letter, rather than all starting with the same — either way, I don’t think you’re locked into only using “E” names even if you already have two. Each child is ultimately their own person, and only in early childhood are sibling names frequently used together anyway.
