Emilia Juliette

It looks like we’ve decided on the name [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]!!

We’ve been referring to the baby as [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] (eh-mee-leah) for a while now and it was just the middle name that we needed to choose but we finally shook on [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] and we both are so happy with it! We’ll probably call her [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] most of the time, but we might use the nickname [name_f]Millie[/name_f] every so often. We’ve told our parents the name and they all love it so we’re pretty excited!

We have two questions, though:

  1. What do you think?
  2. Would you spell it [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] or [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]?

Congratulations. [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]/[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is gorgeous. I personally would spell it [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is our number two. She would also be called [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] most of the time and [name_f]Millie[/name_f] ounce in a while.

We are naming our baby [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] too! Maybe I’m wrong, but I pronounce [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] a little differently. I like [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] better.

That’s a beautiful name! I like [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] better, it’s nice to have a different spelling length between names.

Very pretty, but I’m confused about your prn.

Thanks everyone! boyandgirl - I wasn’t sure how to write it down exactly but we’re pronouncing it like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] but with ‘eh’ (like the first syllable of [name_f]Emily[/name_f]) at the start instead of the ‘ah’ beginning! I hope that made more sense!

It’s hard because I slightly prefer the spelling [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] but my husband prefers [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]!

I really like [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]. Nice choice!

I much prefer [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] (emphasis on the first syllable) to [name_f]Juliette[/name_f], though. [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is already so feminine that the extra, frilly -te bit just feels like overkill. Plus, [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is doubly Shakespearean, which is never a bad thing.

[name_m]Both[/name_m] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] are on my list, so I adore this combo. Very pretty!

  1. I think it is a beautiful name!
  2. [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] for spelling

[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] is beautiful. And I usually prefer [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], but in this case, I think the longer spelling with [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] looks better.

[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] is so gorgeous!!! [name_m]Just[/name_m] stunning! I would spell [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] without the extra -te, but either way, your baby will have a beautiful name!

Its a really pretty name. Like someone mentioned, it depends where you want to place the emphasis. I agree that [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is first syllable and [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] is second. Either way is great though!

Gotcha! Beautiful name!

[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] is beautiful. I much prefer the [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] spelling, it just seems more feminine to me.

[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]/[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is absolutely STUNNING!! I love it! I prefer the simplicity of [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] more. Either way, you can’t go wrong!
