[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there, I posted yesterday asking about [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] which we have ultimately cut from our list due to its connection with [name_m]Charles[/name_m]. My husband and I discussed options like [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] and [name_f]Coralie[/name_f], but decided that we don’t like the nickname [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and it just doesn’t give us the same warm and fuzzy feelings that [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] does.
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] has been our second choice for years and we have always said that if we have two daughters they’ll be [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and [name_f]Emily[/name_f]. Now that [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] is virtually unusable, [name_f]Emily[/name_f] seems to lack the pizzazz it once had. I think I just loved those two names together so much that it bores me a bit to use [name_f]Emily[/name_f] on its own. [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f], and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] were tossed around but we don’t like those any more than [name_f]Emily[/name_f].
My husband has also suggested [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f], which is apparently is a name he’s loved for a while. I don’t particularly love it but it’s nice enough. I don’t really like any of its spellings and would be more inclined to use [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] but my husband only likes [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f].
Other names we’ve discussed but haven’t gone totally agreed upon are [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], and [name_f]Isla[/name_f].
I guess my question is:
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] or [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f]? Which do you prefer?
What spelling of [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] do you prefer?
What suggestions do you have for a sister for [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]?
I believe I suggested this on your other thread (along with some other names, I don’t know if you saw them?), but what about [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]? It’s similar to [name_f]Emily[/name_f] but a lot more interesting, and a beautiful name in and of itself. [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] would be a gorgeous combination. I know so so many girls my age (early 20s) named [name_f]Emily[/name_f] that it feels a bit of a “lost in the crowd” name to me, and quite a few Kaitlyns of various spellings too. I’m in [name_f]Canada[/name_f] though.
Between [name_f]Emily[/name_f] and [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] though, I prefer [name_f]Emily[/name_f] because it’s more classic and has one established spelling.
I prefer [name_f]Emily[/name_f] to [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] (my preferred spelling), but I really like [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] with [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] from your other names listed. To me, both [name_f]Emily[/name_f] and [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] are timeless, whereas [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] is timestamped by the 90s; I knew soo many Kaitlyns (and Caitlins, Katelyns, etc.) growing up.
I think [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]'s sister could be:
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Annie[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] (love [name_f]Bea[/name_f] as a nickname)
[name_f]Calla[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (not a fan of [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Nora[/name_f], but I adore [name_f]Nellie[/name_f])
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] ([name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_f]Cece[/name_f] would be super cute)
[name_f]Greta[/name_f]
[name_f]Joy[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps, good luck!
I far prefer [name_f]Emily[/name_f]. I have never cared for [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f]. I don’t see the appeal. [name_f]Emily[/name_f] is soft, sweet, dainty, and classic. If you like [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], how about:
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
