I prefer [name_f]Ella[/name_f], personally, but I’m a little biased 'cause my name is [name_f]Stella[/name_f] 
I have a cousin named [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and I think it’s a nice name but it’s also super popular.
Yeah, [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is super popular and has never been my favorite. Definitely [name_f]Ella[/name_f] for me, too.
Both are beautiful…I would pick [name_f]Ella[/name_f].
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] for me! I love [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], and [name_f]Emmy[/name_f], but [name_f]Emma[/name_f] doesn’t hold the same charm for me, personally.

I really love both, they’re short, to-the-point, and with the right middle name(s), do not come off as “done” as they are to many (e.g. [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] & [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] vs [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] & [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]).
If I had to choose one, I’d go with [name_f]Emma[/name_f] as I don’t love any longer [name_f]Em[/name_f]- names and if I wanted to get away with using both, I’d use [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ella[/name_f] (which I love and which would also get rid of the complications [name_f]Ella[/name_f] would cause in Spain where part of my family lives).
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]! A much more classic, timeless choice.
I prefer the name [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is a very common name. You could even go with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and call her [name_f]Ella[/name_f] ??
I guess I have to say [name_f]Emma[/name_f]…it’s my own name after all.
