[name_f]Emma[/name_f] has been a long time name love since my oldest son was born 11 years ago. However [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] has been on my mind more and more lately as we talk about having a third child. What do you think of [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] vs. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. [name_m]Both[/name_m] short and sweet classic names paired with a stronger middle name. Sons are [name_m]Trent[/name_m] and [name_u]Ryan[/name_u].
I prefer [name_f]Emma[/name_f]. It’s mega popular for a reason. [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is timeless, feminine, simple, and beautiful. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is as well, but it’s a bit too lacy for me.
I’m changing my name to [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], so I might be a little biased, but although [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is timeless and beautiful, it’s lost its identity among the seas of [name_f]Emily[/name_f], [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. I personally prefer the meaning of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] (light) to [name_f]Emma[/name_f] (universal) as well.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is also a saint’s name, is part of the title in an iconic Beatles song, the titular character in the iconic TV series I [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], a Peanuts character, as well as the names of countless actresses and novel/movie characters.
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] is also way more popular than [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] in the US and the UK.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] undoubtably. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] has a much better ring, and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_m]Trent[/name_m] & [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] are a much better set.
I prefer [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. A little less common, but still classic.
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] sounds very stunning & matches your other children’s names. On the other hand if you think [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] would work & have [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] as a nn, that would help match your other children’s names. Whatever you do I would follow your heart.
I love both names but they give off different vibes for me. [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is serene, soft, feminine and dainty. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is spirited, down-to-earth, spunky and energetic. I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is a better “match” with [name_m]Trent[/name_m] and [name_u]Ryan[/name_u].
Yeah, I love both of them. They’re really adorable names - but I totally vote for [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].
You can’t go wrong with either one, they are both beautiful! However, I slightly prefer [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], especially with the middle name [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] sounds timeless and classy while still having a little sass and spunk.
[name_m]Both[/name_m] are gorgeous names, but I personally think [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] sounds better.
This. I like them both, but when I think about which I’d prefer to meet or be called myself, it’s [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] all the way.
Hard choice. I slightly prefer [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], but I love [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] as well!
I rather like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. If you must have a formal name, you can default to [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], but [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is such a great name on its own.
I like both, but I think I’d vote for [name_f]Emma[/name_f]. It’s classic and beautiful, feminine without being frilly, and it sounds a lot more down to [name_f]Earth[/name_f] and sophisticated than [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], imo. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is sweet but it just seems to be eternally little-girl. I can’t imagine a [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] any older than about ten, whereas [name_f]Emma[/name_f] I can visualise on anyone.
[name_u]Mischa[/name_u]- you are absolutely right! That is why it is so hard to choose! [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] in my mind is so exciting and new vs [name_f]Emma[/name_f] mainly bc of how over used it is but I don’t know if I would mourn or regret not using a [name_f]Emma[/name_f]. -sigh
Congratulations on your decision to change to [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]! It is a great name! If we were to have a boy one of our top boy names today is [name_m]Luke[/name_m] (light)! So maybe I just need to follow the light!
i love [name_f]Emma[/name_f] as a MN & loooove [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] as a FN. i like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Emma[/name_f] actually.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] I love it.
I prefer [name_f]Emma[/name_f] to [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is really cute
I love [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]! [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is really great too but I always thought [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] was such a sweet name. And it ages really well too.
