What do you think of Emma as a nickname for Emily? We named our baby Emily, but I keep calling her Emma for short… I can’t really help it, it just comes out. Is that too confusing since Emma is a separate name?
Why not? It’s cute and rolls off the tongue easily. The only problem I could possibly for see is in school as she gets older, but it’s not really a big jump from [name]Emma[/name] to [name]Emily[/name], in spite of them being distinct names.

I do think Emma and Emily are 2 distinct (very popular 
) names, and therefore, people might get confused as she gets older.
How about Emmy, Emsie, or Em?
What is her middle name? Maybe you can create a special nn from her first and middle name.
