[name_m]Can[/name_m] [name_f]Emmaline[/name_f] be pronounced [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-[name_u]Lynn[/name_u]?
How would you pronounce [name_f]Emmaline[/name_f]?
I pronounce it emm-uh-leen.
I’d intuitively say [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-[name_u]Lynn[/name_u].
It could be, but it really doesn’t make sense to me when names ending in -line get pronounced -lynn. I’d pronounce it as emma-leen
Emma-leen :))
i don’t think Emma-lynn is intuitive.
Emma-line
Emma-line.
em uh lin
I instinctually say [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-line (like the word line) but I think it can be pronounced -line, -leen, or -lynn. If you want to -lynn pronunciation to be more obvious you could spell it [name_f]Emmalyn[/name_f]. I’ve actually met an [name_f]Emmalyn[/name_f]. I think it’s a really pretty spelling!
Emma-line
I’d pronounce it [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-line or [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-leen but I wouldn’t be surprised by emma-lyn either
I would say emma-line but emma-lynn works too
I don’t think [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-lynn is intuitive. I would say [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-line, but I wouldn’t be surprised by [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-leen.
If it were me and I wanted the most intuitive pronunciation to be [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-lynn, I think [name_f]Emmalyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Emalyn[/name_f] would be a more appropriate spelling.
On another note, I prefer the traditional [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] spelling over [name_f]Emmaline[/name_f] anyway.
I’d automatically say emma-line (long i) and then next would say emma-leen, but I think emma-lynn isn’t too out-there!
I pronounce it emma-leen, and I’m pretty sure that’s the standard pronounciation, but if you’re fine with frequent corrections, [name_f]Emmaline[/name_f] is pretty!! I suggest spelling it [name_f]Emmalynn[/name_f] or [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u].
I would pronounce it “[name_f]Emma[/name_f]-[name_f]Line[/name_f].” I do think “[name_f]Emma[/name_f]-[name_u]Lyn[/name_u]” would work though, and I would certainly change it corrected.
I would pronounce it emma-line. [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-lynn I would spell like that!
[name_f]My[/name_f] thoughts exactly. But I would naturally say it [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-line.
I think it can because people say “[name_u]Lynn[/name_u]” for [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], but I believe [name_f]Emmalyn[/name_f] is more intuitive. I would pronounce [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-line.
I say emma-leen
