[name_f]Emmy[/name_f] Roo is just too cute to pass up! Although I usually don’t care for [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], it does flow nicely in this combo. I also like [name_f]Grier[/name_f] and [name_f]Joy[/name_f].
[name_f]Fleur[/name_f] is too floral with [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]; [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Jane[/name_f] don’t really add anything imo; [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] are ok; and I just don’t care for [name_u]Lou[/name_u] as a given name. Maybe [name_f]Louise[/name_f] nn [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u]? but [name_u]Lou[/name_u] even in a double barreled name seems down market to me.

I agree completely. :frowning: The last time [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] was on my list, my combo had been [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], and I had planned on using [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] Roo/[name_f]Emmy[/name_f] as a nickname. I am still completely in love with [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] Roo, but I don’t care for [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] anymore (plus [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] sounds a bit ridiculous!). To be honest, I really don’t care for [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] at all. It’s my grandmother’s FN, and my baby sister’s MN, and it’s an easy way to honor multiple family members in my rather large family, but I am very picky about where I like it (I can think of only two instances were I liked it in the past, and only one instance where I still like [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] in the combo). And honestly, if I didn’t feel so bad about honoring my dad and brother close to 15 times on my combined lists, and my sister and grandmother only about 3 times, [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] would probably be gone. I like so many of the other options so much more. I just feel really bad about not honoring them, haha. That, and I’d miss [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] Roo! I have thought about [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_u]Rue[/name_u], but there’s just something off about it, I think.

Thanks, ladies! This is proving much more helpful than I had originally expected.

I think [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] are out. While they’re family names, I agree with @gwensmom that [name_f]Jane[/name_f] doesn’t really add anything to [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], and I feel the same way about [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. And I just don’t love [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] enough to use it, much as I’d like to make myself. It would be nice if I could come up with another middle that I actually like that could get me [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] Roo, though. :frowning:

Also, I’ve been thinking about [name_f]Joy[/name_f] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f] as possible middles to honor my sister–whose name is [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]. [name_m]Both[/name_m] she and I have [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] names, so I like the idea of passing down [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] names as a way to honor that tie that we share, and my family’s unending love for the holiday. [name_f]Do[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f] have enough of a tie to [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] that it would be noticeable? [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] isn’t an option at the moment, but I’ve considered it and do like it, and would consider it more strongly if the [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] connection was obvious enough…

[name_f]Love[/name_f] love love [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]!! Its super charming and perfect!

[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] gets my vote. [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] Roo is too cute!

I like [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u], “[name_f]Emmy[/name_f]-[name_u]Lou[/name_u]” but I would use [name_f]Louise[/name_f]. [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f].

[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] is delightful. It’s such a happy name! I do love [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u] and [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] Roo though.

I lie them all! I think [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] is my favorite, since [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] [name_f]Bee[/name_f] could connect to your grandfather. You now how much I love [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] Roo though, so [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is very close second.

I know! That’s one of the big draws with [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] for me right now. Plus, I had a very dear friend named [name_f]Bee[/name_f] (or nn’d [name_f]Bee[/name_f]!), and I like that it reminds me of her, as well. I’m not sure how often I’d actually use [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] [name_f]Bee[/name_f] or [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], though–I think I’d be much more inclined to use [name_f]Emmy[/name_f], or [name_f]Emma[/name_f], and I like some of the double-barrels much more ([name_f]Emmy[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u], [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]). I’m really liking [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u], [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] today. I just wish I could decide!
