I say it like [name_f]Emme[/name_f]-line. Normally I would say [name_f]Emme[/name_f]-leen but it sounds too close to [name_f]Emily[/name_f] and since I love the aesthetic of the name I’d rather say it so that it sound different from [name_f]Emily[/name_f].

Definitely [name_f]Emme[/name_f]-line … I’ve never heard it any other way.

I think I very slightly prefer the -line pronunciation over the -leen one, but I like both. Not too big on the -lynn pronunciation because it doesn’t make much sense to me with this name.

I’ve always pronounced it with the -leen ending. I wasn’t aware until now actually that some people pronounce it with the -line ending! I know the -leen ending makes it sound very close to [name_f]Emily[/name_f], but personally I think it sounds much prettier that way.

I love [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]! I say -leen, too. I used to say [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-line, when I first fell for it, but the website I was on before Nameberry were very adamant that it was -leen, not -line, and I sort of felt guilted into using the -leen pronunciation. Honestly, though, now I much prefer it and don’t mind that I sort of felt stiffarmed into it. I think [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-leen is gorgeous.

I agree that [name_f]Emme[/name_f]-leen sounds prettier, but I’ve only ever heard it used as [name_f]Emme[/name_f]-line in real life.

Honestly this is one of those names where the pronunciation could go either way. The only reason I put [name_f]Emme[/name_f]-line (rhymes with sign) is because I’ve only known one, and that’s how she spelled it.

That said, I pronounce [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], “Made-lyn” only because 99% of the [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]'s I’ve met pronounce it that way. Yet if I never saw the name before I would definitely pronounce it Made-line.

It’s all what we’re used to. Either way, “Leen” or “[name_f]Line[/name_f]” , [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] would be a beautiful name for a daughter

I say [name_f]Emme[/name_f]-leen (on the verge of -lyn, but more -leen), but I knew a girl called [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] (mad-uh-lyn) growing up so I don’t even think to pronounce the ending like ‘line’.
