Enslow/ Enslo?

I just met a little boy named this and I love it! I love [name_m]Winslow[/name_m] but unfortunately its off the list for me. [name_m]Ive[/name_m] thought about [name_m]Onslow[/name_m] but to me that sounds too much like onslaught.

But I love the sound of Enslow/Enslo. Maybe a little to similar to more familiar [name_m]Enzo[/name_m] (which I like as well) but the addition of the ‘l’ sound just softens it a little for me.

I cant find much information about it as a given name, but I do see its a place name in the UK.

What are your opinions on Enslow, any negative association Im unaware of? And which spelling do you prefer?

Enslow/Enslo is really cool! It feels familiar despite being uncommon, and I love the sound.

I don’t know of any negative associations.

I’m torn between the two spellings, but I’m leaning towards Enslo! I think the -o ending fits in with [name_m]Enzo[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_m]Elio[/name_m], etc and has a cool, friendly feeling. I like Enslow as well and the fact it matches [name_m]Winslow[/name_m], [name_m]Marlow[/name_m], etc, but I also find that because it’s less common, the “slow” part stands out to me more with this spelling which I don’t love.

It’s very cool and gentle at the same time! I slightly prefer Enslo, I think, but then I do love and -o ending! I can’t think of any negative associations

I’d assume the name means something along the lines of:

  • a variant of ‘Anslow’ meaning ‘Anselm’s hill’’
  • alternatively, Anslow can mean “Ēanswīth’s woodland / Ēanswīth’s meadow” (lambing meadow?)
  • a variant on [name_f]Ensley[/name_f] / [name_f]Ansley[/name_f] “one’s own meadow” / “one’s own hill”

I really like the sound and the look of Enslow / Enslo :white_heart:

I also think that it could easily blend in with the current trends of “o” endings - [name_m]Arlo[/name_m], [name_m]Marlow[/name_m], [name_m]Enzo[/name_m] while still being distinct enough :sparkles:

Enslow/Enslo is super cool, I love how it gentles the sound of [name_m]Enzo[/name_m]. I prefer the Enslow spelling, actually, just because it looks a little more complete to me.

Ooh Enslow/Enslo is so cool! Enslow feels a bit more vintage/place namey, while Enslo has a sleeker more modern feel to me.

I love it!
Would definitely go with the Enslo spelling just because I don’t like how obvious the word ‘slow’ is when wrote the other way - could see it leading to potential teasing with kids.

I prefer the Enslo spelling. Looks more similar to [name_m]Oslo[/name_m], which is a name I really enjoy.

I like the Enslo spelling so you don’t see “slow” in the name. Enslo is a handsome choice!

[name_m]Super[/name_m] cool name! I quite like it, although it feels kind of like Samson/Sampson to me, where the name without the “W” seems incomplete, but with it it also doesn’t seem right?

Regardless, I love it! Thanks so much for sharing! I may have to steal it.
