Eowyn or Eleanor

So I’ve been thinking about names recently again (I just had a baby 9 months ago, but got baby fever again three months later ). I really like the name [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f]. I can’t figure out which one I like more–they are both just as lovely to me as the other.

Some middle names I’ve come up with are:
[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]
[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f]

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I want to honour his mother somehow this time around with a middle name (when we have another). Her name is [name_f]Heather[/name_f] [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f], so i thought perhaps a variation on [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] would be sweet, or even just [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] Does anyone have any other suggestions on how to honour my very lovely mother-in-law, or maybe just which comination you like the best?

Plus, I’m flexible on how to spell [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. I like many of the ways to spell it so it’s hard to choose! [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanore[/name_f], [name_f]Elanor[/name_f] (we love LOTR) and [name_f]Elinor[/name_f].

I adore [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] (LOTR fan), it’s different without being crazy & while [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is beautiful & classic I just feel like [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] has an extra the spark & playfulness that [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] doesnt have IMO.

MN wise they all work really well but I’m really drawn to [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], it’s beautiful.

Other MN’s that could work
Mairsile
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]
[name_f]Marita[/name_f]
[name_f]Mattea[/name_f]
[name_f]Marisol[/name_f]
[name_f]Maris[/name_f]
[name_f]Marley[/name_f]
Marianthe
[name_f]Maren[/name_f]
[name_f]Marylin[/name_f]
[name_f]Marnie[/name_f]
[name_f]Marcy[/name_f]

Both are lovely!

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] she’s elegant, regal, full of history, feels so timeless and has a range of pretty nicknames.

All of your ideas are lovely my friends daughter is [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] she receives so many compliments. I think [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] makes such a sweet middle name with a strong classic like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] also provides a similar feel to [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] but I think [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is prettier I just love the floral connotations. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is very elegant and graceful. Finally onto [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] I think this overall name is lovely! Such a sweet honour name that tons of pretty cottagecore imagery. I would love [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] the name is beautiful with this fun clunky cool vibe. I would use [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] in a heartbeat :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I’m thinking you could use a shade of purple as an honour name for [name_f]Heather[/name_f]- [name_f]Lavender[/name_f], [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] or [name_f]Mauve[/name_f]?

[name_f]Elanor[/name_f] would be really special for the LOTR connection. All [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] spellings appeal to me, but one may jump out when paired with a middle if/when you get to that point

[name_f]Elanor[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f]
[name_f]Elinor[/name_f] [name_f]Mauve[/name_f]
[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]
[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f]
[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Mauve[/name_f]

[name_f]Marjolein[/name_f] means marjoram which has a beautiful purple flower and [name_f]Marjolaine[/name_f] is either another variant or a Scottish version of [name_f]Marjory[/name_f] depending on which source you look at - perhaps it is both! Anyway, it could work really well as a grandmother honour for you, if you happen to like it.

I’d love to see [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] itself make a comeback

When I read this, my immediate thought was “maybe [name_f]Elanor[/name_f] as a compromise between the two” so it was nice to see it as a possibility!

[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] is magical, literary and mystical - but also unexpected and uncommon

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is elegant and understated, strong and pretty, but more familiar.

I think [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] is my fave today but both are lovely!

I love the combos:

[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]

[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]

[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f]

Some ideas:

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Marjoram[/name_f]

[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]

[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Jorie[/name_f]

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f]

[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Greta[/name_f]

[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Gretel[/name_f]

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f]

[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Merit[/name_f]

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Merit[/name_f]

[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Marsaili[/name_f]

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Mairead[/name_f]

[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Mara[/name_f]

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Megan[/name_f]

[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]

[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Harmony[/name_f]

[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Rorie[/name_f]

[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] :white_heart:

she’s simply stunning and [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is pure magic :sparkles:

[name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] or [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] are both stunning! I definitely prefer the [name_f]Elanor[/name_f] / [name_f]Elinor[/name_f] spellings to add a little more spark to the classic [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].

Slightly prefer [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] :tulip: full of spunk and pretty

I prefer the timelessness of [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and think that the LOTR spelling of [name_f]Elanor[/name_f] is a great compromise.
