What are your thoughts on this name? I really love the Tolkien association, since Éowyn was a very powerful character and I grew up with the stories through my mother, to whom the books and movies are very special, so in a way it’s an honor name for her.
Besides, Éowyn is so enchanting and mystical. It’s soft and warm, but also strong and grounded. It’s also an excuse to use Winnie as a nickname…

Éowyn is so cute, I love it! It definitely has a really nice mystical feel and I think that it can be a really sweet name for a kid and then a grown up name for an adult as well. Éowyn and [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] are perfect!!
I really like it! We considered [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] if baby was a girl but decided we liked [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] a little bit more. But [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] is a beautiful choice, especially if you’re a big fan of LOTR or if you just have positive memories associated with the series.
I think it’s lovely. I feel like it’d be weird to use it if you weren’t a fan of the character, but it sounds like the stories that she’s in are special to you. Therefore, it’s a great idea! It’s neat w/Vesper too. People will likely pronounce & spell it wrong occasionally, but worth it for such a beautiful name. Plus it has the nn [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f], which is adorable.
I like [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] and she’s beautiful next to [name_u]Vesper[/name_u]. The only thing I would say is that I’d probably drop the accent. They’re a big hassle on most US forms and many people spell the character’s name without it.
