Ephraim or Josiah

Im really stuck between these two names so i want to see your opinions on both the names and the nicknames youd use for both. Thank you @Holy.musical.b for recommending this group.

I love [name_m]Josiah[/name_m]! It’s gentle but strong and sharp at the same time. [name_u]Jo[/name_u], [name_u]Josie[/name_u], [name_u]Joss[/name_u], [name_u]Si[/name_u] as nn?

I prefer the quirky vintage feel of [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m]!

I forever love [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] :two_hearts: could use [name_u]Joa[/name_u] or [name_u]Joey[/name_u] as a NN.
I don’t mind [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] as a name but I have met one and he wasn’t the nicest person. NN could be E, [name_u]Ray[/name_u], Fray, or Aim?

Welcome to Nameberry!

I love both! I think I prefer [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] up front but [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] is ridiculously cool. If you don’t have a middle name yet, I think [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] would be amazing?

Josiah could probably get [name_m]Joe[/name_m](y), [name_u]Si[/name_u], Siah, even [name_u]Josey[/name_u] or something?

Ephraim I’m not sure of… depends on how you say [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m]? Most I know say ee-free-um, but most on nameberry seem to say eff-rum? I sort of like the idea of [name_u]Free[/name_u], but other than that, maybe [name_m]Ram[/name_m] or [name_f]Effie[/name_f] even… [name_f]Effie[/name_f] seems a bit effeminate but I know a little Iz.ri nicknamed [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] so I think it could work? I read a novel a while back with a [name_m]Ram[/name_m] in it (may have been short for [name_m]Avram[/name_m]/Abram?), and I’ve since fallen in love with it! I don’t think [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] or [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] truly need nns, but if you find one you love, all the better!

Good luck!

Josiah

Ephraim! It’s unexpected and handsome. I do like [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] too though - [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] would love fantastic!

Josiah! It is classic but not overused, and is so versatile.

I’m a vote for [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m]. Very old-school-cool. [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] is nice too and both have a large variety of sounds to take nicknames from.
