Eppie

What do you think of [name]Eppie[/name]? I think it’s cute but needs a more substantial formal name. I’ve seen it used as a nn for [name]Euphemia[/name] but I’m not a fan. What about something like EP initials? [name]Say[/name] [name]Elena[/name] [name]Petra[/name] or [name]Elena[/name] [name]Persephone[/name]?

I personally don’t like the nick name [name]Eppie[/name]. I think of epidural which a lot of people call epi. and the epi-pen shot for people allergic to bee stings. I don’t think it is terrible though. I agree it needs a formal name though. [name]Euphemia[/name] is definitely not my taste either. [name]Elena[/name] is pretty but I do not care for [name]Petra[/name] or [name]Persephone[/name]. [name]Elena[/name] [name]Primrose[/name], [name]Elena[/name] [name]Pauline[/name], [name]Paulette[/name], [name]Patrice[/name]…

Makes me think of an Epi-pen so I can’t get into it sorry.

I also just think of epi-pens and anaphylactic shock. But if you love it, I also agree that if you use it, getting to it via the initials E.P. makes a lot of sense. [name]Elena[/name] [name]Penelope[/name]?

I also think of the epi-pen, so really bad association!

Epa isn’t bad though

I love the name [name]Petra[/name]. Beautiful and unique.

The advice columnist [name]Ann[/name] [name]Landers[/name] was really an [name]Eppie[/name]. [name]Just[/name] like you were thinking, it was for her initials: [name]Esther[/name] [name]Pauline[/name]. I think [name]Eppie[/name] is adorable as a nn.

[name]Elena[/name] [name]Portia[/name] (favorite)
[name]Elena[/name] [name]Paige[/name]
[name]Elena[/name] [name]Poppy[/name]
[name]Elena[/name] [name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Elena[/name] [name]Piper[/name]

There’s also Eponine, but that’s awfully linked to [name]Les[/name] Mis for me.

Since I went to school for nursing and now public health, epi = Epidural, epidermis, epiglottis, epilepsy, epinephrine, epidemiology, epidemic…

[name]Effie[/name] would make more sense as a nn for [name]Euphemia[/name]

Eppi pen! Only thing I can think of when I hear that name!

My first thought when I saw [name]Eppie[/name] was Eponine from [name]Les[/name] Mis, which is a lovely unique name. The second thing I thought of was epi-pen. I still think it’s cute though. It seems like one of those things that in theory or on paper/boards people say won’t work, but then when you meet a little girl with it, you just think “Oh, how cute!!”

Eponine!

I prefer [name]Effie[/name], short for Efrat.

I think [name]Eppie[/name] pen too…it makes me think of allergies.

I like it! It’s the traditional nickname for [name]Hephzibah[/name] (/[name]Hepzibah[/name]), which is maybe just a little Puritanical for current ears…but it means ‘my joy is in her’, which is a pretty lovely meaning for a daughter. [name]Hephzibah[/name], nn [name]Eppie[/name], is the little girl in [name]George[/name] [name]Eliot[/name]'s novella [name]Silas[/name] Marner.

The association with epi-pens wouldn’t be a dealbreaker to me- it’s a positive (or at worst neutral- an epi-pen is a life saving device!) association.

I immediately think of epi-pen. And then epidural. I do not like it at all, sorry.

There’s a slang expression here, ‘Having an epi’. I think it refers to ‘having an epileptic fit’, which is really non-PC, sorry - I didn’t invent it and I don’t use it, but I’ve heard it plenty so it’s stuck in my mind. It’s used when someone is very upset/angry about something, and throws a tantrum.

So I can’t get into the name [name]Eppie[/name]. Sorry.

I love [name]Persephone[/name] as a Middle name sounds very nice with [name]Elena[/name]

Yeah, its sort of reminds me of the time my cousin had to use her epi-pen. Her mom keep saying to her sister “GO GET THE [name]EPPIE[/name]!!”

Also…

epidemic
hepatitis

I am sort of liking [name]Effie[/name] though, but blocking out [name]Eppie[/name] Trinket association. :stuck_out_tongue:
